00:05 Today I'm here with a very important video and I came up with this idea because I noticed
00:13 that there is a lot of confusion regarding the Metamorphosis Quad.
00:18 If you're not familiar, I don't get tired of saying this because I'm so proud of my
00:22 little project.
00:23 If you're not familiar, Metamorphosis or Be The Change is a quad that I designed in collaboration
00:28 with ColourPop Cosmetics and I've noticed that there is a lot of maybe confusion or
00:34 misunderstanding or just lack of information because a lot of you don't follow me on Instagram.
00:40 But the purpose of this quad was to have two new finishes, or one new finish, one new eyeshadow
00:48 finish that would be considered a transformer or an eyeshadow that could change, modify,
00:56 or be the metamorphosis of an eyeshadow base.
01:00 I hear a lot of hums and whispers and comments saying, "Kindness is bae.
01:08 Kindness is MAC blue-brown pigment.
01:11 Kindness is insomnia.
01:14 Everyone thinks that kindness is a dupe for something."
01:16 I'm here to tell you that it's not a dupe for anything because the two shadows in this
01:21 quad, Hope and Kindness, the two transformer shades, are a new finish from ColourPop called
01:29 Sheer Opal.
01:31 Sheer Opal is a sheer shadow used as a topper to modify a color or as a topper just to be
01:40 a sheer wash of almost like pixie dust on the eyelid.

02:32 This quad, like I told you guys, has two colors.
02:36 Let me get those for you guys.
02:39 It has two colors, Hope and Kindness, which are a new finish from ColourPop.
02:43 I believe it is limited edition, the quad and the finish.
02:48 They look like this.
02:49 The two eyeshadows, like I said, are a sheer opal finish, which means they are thin enough
02:55 to be...
02:56 They're thin enough to change an eyeshadow but so that you could still see through the
03:01 actual eyeshadow itself, this one.
03:05 What I like to do is I like to take my favorite eyeshadow crayons, like from Rimmel, from
03:10 Milani, and I use that as a base.
03:15 You could also use MAC Paint Pots.
03:16 You could use Maybelline Color Tattoos.
03:19 You could use any long-wearing eyeliner that you have.
03:22 You could even use powder eyeshadows.
03:24 Anything that you've used on your eyes can be used as a base.
03:29 My preference is to use something that goes from cream to dry or wet to dry, like a paint
03:35 pot or an eyeshadow stick because they perform the best.
03:39 So again, these are sheer opal finishes.
03:42 So they're designed to be thin so you could see through them.
03:46 ColourPop has other types of finishes in their collection.
03:49 For example, they have the classic metallic.
03:53 This is a metallic eyeshadow.
03:55 If you look at it, it's a pressed metallic pigment.
03:58 It's very reflective.
04:00 This is the color Sleigh, in case you're wondering.
04:03 Another finish that they have in their collection is ultra metallic, which is like metallic
04:11 on Red Bull.
04:13 Let's keep it PG.
04:14 Do you see the difference?
04:15 This is metallic.
04:17 It's a little bit more raw and crude, and this is ultra metallic.
04:21 It looks like a liquid metal on the eyelid.
04:23 That's the color Liberty.
04:25 Another finish that they have is pearlized.
04:28 And pearlized, let me show you, is really creamy.
04:34 It has a pearl-like finish.
04:37 If you were looking at a pearl and you see it has almost like a matte glow.
04:44 It sounds like an oxymoron, but that's the best way I can describe a pearl is like a
04:48 matte glow.
04:49 And that pearlized shadow is Acorn.
04:51 Then they have Satin.
04:52 And I'm going to show you guys my color Strength so you can see what Satin looks like.
04:56 Satin is an opaque base, but it has almost like a sheen to it.
05:02 And when you see it really up close, you can see little tiny itty bitty baby sparkles.
05:08 I mean, if Pixie Dust had a baby, that's how small the sparkles are.
05:13 After Satin, you have a Satin Luxe.
05:16 And that one is a Satin base with more visible sparkles.
05:20 I mean, more chunky sparkles, I'm going to be honest.
05:24 This is the color Halo.
05:26 And that's right there on my middle finger.
05:28 So they're very similar, but when you see the swatches up close, you're going to see
05:31 the difference in the glitters.
05:33 So that is Halo.
05:35 And then the last one that I want to show you guys is Matte.
05:37 And I don't know what I'm doing because my fingers are covered in ColourPop shadows right
05:43 now.
05:44 So if I need to touch my camera, I'm screwed.
05:46 So this is Matte.
05:47 And I mean, Matte is self-explanatory.
05:50 It's fully opaque, and it's just a solid shade.
05:53 And that's that color right there.
05:55 I picked these three similar so you guys could see three similar colors, but three different
06:00 finishes.
06:01 Okay, so let me show you guys this hand right here.
06:03 The first color that we have is a metallic finish, and that is the color Sleigh.
06:08 I think this came out with their Christmas collection.
06:10 In my middle finger is the Ultra Metallic.
06:14 I think is the, yeah, Ultra Metallic.
06:16 And you could see my middle finger looks like you melted a nickel on it.
06:21 It is silver metallic, but it's smooth.
06:24 And then on my pointer finger is the Pearlized finish.
06:28 Doesn't that look like pearl earrings?
06:30 So you have that glow, but it's not shiny.
06:33 It's not shimmery.
06:34 There's no sparkles.
06:35 There's nothing.
06:36 It's just like, it's glowy.
06:37 Like, it's smooth like a pearl, but it's not, there's no chunk to it.
06:42 There's no shimmer.
06:43 There's no pixie dust, nothing.
06:44 Then on these three here, on this finger, the ring finger, I have a satin finish.
06:49 Here I have the Satin Luxe.
06:52 And then the last one that I have is Matte.
06:54 So if you look at the back of my hand, you could tell how different these three are.
07:00 They're almost the same exact color, but if you pay really close attention, this is satin.
07:04 So you could see it has a glow about it, but it's not chunky.
07:08 Then you have this middle shade right here, and this one is glowy because it has like
07:13 distinctive sparkles in it.
07:15 You could pick up on those little pieces of sparkle.
07:18 You could see them.
07:19 Can you identify them?
07:20 They're almost like silver.
07:21 And then this is Matte.
07:23 So the finishes are different.
07:25 On this side over here, I have Metallic, Ultra Metallic, and Pearlized.
07:32 I'm not sure if those are all the finishes that ColourPop has done.
07:35 I know that over the months, they have changed the names of certain products.
07:39 For example, they used to be all called pressed pigments.
07:42 That's what the name of all of them were, Metallic or not.
07:45 But they have kind of subcategorized them now.
07:48 So when you're looking on the website, it's easy to get overwhelmed because you'll see
07:52 like, I don't know.
07:53 A lot of you guys said that my color strength looks like a lot of the other colors that
07:57 they already have, or even like one in Kathleen's quad.
08:00 But pay close attention to the finish because the finish makes a really big difference.
08:05 When you see Slay and Liberty together side by side, you're like, "Whoa, they're both
08:11 silver eyeshadows.
08:12 They're like metallic-y silver eyeshadows."
08:14 But when you see them swatched, there is a really big difference.
08:18 So kind of gauge your purchase based on, "Is that a finish that I'm going to like?
08:22 Is that a finish that I can roll with?"
08:25 And then pick the color that you like with the finish that you like.
08:29 So all of us, all of us like that warm toffee brown or that classic transition shade.
08:35 So find the transition shade that you like and then see if there is a finish that you
08:40 would be willing to work with.
08:41 So again, when you're looking at the Metamorphosis quad and you're trying to find a similar product
08:47 or something that is dupable or something that you already have in your collection,
08:52 the possibility that you have it in your collection already is probably slim because this is a
08:58 purposely sheer eyeshadow.
09:01 If you guys see a lot of ... A lot of you guys already got your Metamorphosis quads
09:06 in the mail and you've tagged me on such beautiful swatch pictures.
09:10 But when you see the swatches, they're really pretty but they're very sheer.
09:14 You just have ... If you don't see it in video form, you really can't imagine how it could
09:19 work.
09:20 I just wanted to make sure that you guys had that idea because even if you're not going
09:25 to get the Metamorphosis quad but you've been wanting to get ColourPop shadows, be cognizant
09:30 of the finish.
09:31 There are so many different finishes and there are some that you ... I mean, the metallic
09:36 ones, they have chunky glitter.
09:38 Do you want an eyeshadow with chunky glitter?
09:39 I know I do.
09:40 But some people are like, "No, I don't like anything glittery or chunky."
09:44 So then get maybe an ultra metallic or try and see what finishes they have.
09:49 I know a lot of times they pull and move different products, change the names, switch out stuff.
09:56 Read the fine print.
09:57 Next to the name, they always have the finish in parentheses.
