Here's our 'New Trailer' concept for Warner Bros. upcoming movie THE MEG 2: THE TRENCH (2023) (More Info About This Video Down Below!)

The inspiration behind this video:

While Meg 2: The Trench promises some brand-new creature feature action, its trailer is overflowing with references and easter eggs for earlier monster movies. The monster movie genre has a long and storied history that dates back to the birth of Hollywood. Creature features have been making millions since 1933’s King Kong and director Steven Spielberg’s Jaws is even often called the first modern blockbuster. However, the monster movie’s history doesn’t end there. The $530 million payday that 2018’s The Meg earned at the box office proves that the horror sub-genre is still doing impressive business many decades later, and its upcoming sequel hopes to continue this hot streak.

Released in 2009, Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus is a rare original title from The Asylum. A studio infamous for ripping off Hollywood blockbusters with soundalike titles, The Asylum came up with an original premise with this story of two prehistoric aquatic titans fighting it out. The octopus’s presence in the beach scenes of Meg 2: The Trench’s trailer implies that both it and a Meg will likely face off. Thus, after years of The Asylum copying Hollywood’s efforts, a blockbuster might soon replicate the titular battle of Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus.
