00:00 Hey guys, it's Jen and I wanted to share with you this month's monthly favorite products.
00:05 So this August, it's been very hot outside.
00:09 I've been really busy going to a lot of events.
00:12 We just had BeautyCon a week ago which was amazing and I got to meet some of you which
00:16 was just really awesome but it was very, very hot.
00:21 And one of the things that comes with hot is making sure that your skin is really clean.
00:27 So I have a few skincare products that I wanted to mention this month and for some reason
00:31 also lip products.
00:33 I think just going into fall I've been really getting into different lipsticks.
00:36 So the first lipstick I wanted to talk about is from Benefit.
00:39 This is in Nice and Teasy and you know me, you know I love my My Lips But Better shades
00:46 which just kind of enhance the natural look of your lips and this one's really perfect
00:51 for that.
00:52 It's kind of a medium, natural pink shade and the thing I really love about these lipsticks
00:58 is that they're really, really hydrating.
01:01 This pretty much just feels like a lip balm and it moisturizes over time.
01:05 It's not going to make your lips peel or chip or anything.
01:08 So this has been my current month's go-to purse favorite as in I take it everywhere
01:14 with me and apply it all the time.
01:16 So I've been really, really loving it.
01:17 I also think it's cool that they changed the shape of the lipstick compared to other lipstick
01:23 bullets in that it's kind of tapered on both sides.
01:27 So it's actually really easy to apply no matter what your lip shape is and like I said it's
01:33 really hydrating so that's why it's been one of my favorites.
01:36 So the next lipstick I wanted to mention is from my Target drugstore haul.
01:41 If you haven't seen that I'll put an annotation right up there.
01:43 You can click and watch it but I just got this recently.
01:45 It's one of the Kate Moss lipsticks that Rimmel came out with and I thought it was really
01:50 interesting because the outside of the bullet is this beautiful red satin finish.
01:55 I've been wanting a matte red lipstick for a really long time because I have quite a
02:00 few reds but none of them give that really vintage-y, gorgeous bombshell matte red lip
02:07 look.
02:08 So I wanted to find something that would fill that void in my life and I think I found it.
02:13 This is such an amazing color.
02:16 This one is #111 Kiss of Life.
02:18 It smells amazing.
02:20 It kind of reminds me of Jolly Ranchers, like watermelon Jolly Ranchers.
02:26 It just makes it that much more appealing to apply and the color is just fabulous.

02:43 It's just so rich and it doesn't dry your lips out even though it's matte.
02:47 So I think that's the most important thing about a matte red lip is that you can wear
02:51 it for a long time and not feel uncomfortable.
02:53 And I have a third lipstick.
02:56 I don't know.
02:57 I've just been really into lipsticks this month.
02:59 I found another My Lips But Better shade from the Urban Decay line of new lipsticks that
03:04 they came out.
03:05 These are the Revolution lipsticks.
03:07 These are so gorgeous.
03:09 They come off as being so high end and fancy.
03:12 I have a full review of the entire shade line on my blog.
03:15 I'll also link that down below in case you want to check out the different colors that
03:19 they came out with.
03:20 But this is my, of course, my MLBB.
03:23 I love my MLBBs.
03:24 This one is Fiend.
03:26 It's just that really great medium pink color that is going to be flattering on a ton of
03:30 skin tones.
03:31 These lipsticks are nice because they're really creamy and they're really really rich.
03:36 So I feel like they kind of stay on your lips for a little bit longer.
03:40 They're not as buttery as some other lipstick lines that I've tried, but they definitely
03:46 have a lot of staying power and really fabulous colors, especially some of the brights.
03:52 The lipstick wallet also has some weight to it.
03:54 So it feels really nice in your hand.
03:56 And the cap is going to be nice and tight so it doesn't just like pop off in your purse.
04:00 So love that.
04:01 So now I'm going to move into some skincare stuff.
04:04 And I recently discovered this Clinique Acne Solution Spot Healing Gel.
04:09 And I've been using this on some of my pimples that have been coming up this month.
04:14 I've been having a few breakouts the last couple of weeks.
04:17 I think it's because after not wearing makeup for a while and then getting back into wearing
04:22 makeup pretty regularly, my skin was kind of freaking out.
04:26 I'm also wondering if maybe my sunscreen that I was using on my face that's a little bit
04:30 older has been making me break out as well.
04:33 So I'm looking for a new sunscreen.
04:36 If you guys have a really great suggestion, leave it in the comments because I would love
04:39 to know what you're using.
04:41 Anyway, so I've been having some breakouts and this is what I've been going to as my
04:45 easy go-to before I go to bed at night.
04:48 And it just has this little pointed tip.
04:52 And it's just a clear gel that comes out like that.
04:54 It has a slight burning sensation.
04:57 And it feels a little bit cooling when you put it on your face.
05:00 But I kind of like that because I feel like you know it's working when you can feel that.
05:05 It has helped some of my zits to go down a little bit quicker than if I don't use anything
05:10 at all.
05:11 I'm not going to say that it's completely better than the Mario Badescu drying lotion.
05:16 However, I feel like for more of an everyday use, this is slightly more gentle because
05:22 the Mario Badescu stuff can be pretty hardcore.
05:25 So anyway, liking that plus no residue on the face after you apply it, which means that
05:29 you can apply it anytime during the day as well.
05:32 The next product for skin I also wanted to talk about is another Clinique product.
05:36 This is their Repair Wear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream.
05:43 And I've been using this since I was my husband and it's really nice.
05:47 I've been hopping around with a few different eye creams over the last few months and sometimes
05:51 it's hard to find one that's really rich and hydrating but doesn't cause those little tiny
05:56 milia to develop underneath your eyes.
05:58 You know those little hard bumps that are really hard to get rid of.
06:02 This hasn't given that to me at all.
06:04 And it's so rich, look, I turn it upside down and you can't even see anything moving.
06:10 It's quite thick.
06:11 And so I just use about that much on my finger.
06:13 It just sinks into my skin really nicely.
06:15 I've been really, really loving this.
06:17 So a couple other skincare products I also wanted to talk about are from Michael Todd
06:22 True Organics.
06:23 I've heard so many gurus talking about this and I like the idea of organic products being
06:28 a lot healthier for your skin.
06:29 You guys know how sensitive my skin is.
06:32 So I was really excited to try these out to see if it lives up to the hype.
06:36 So the first product I tried out is this Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Gel Cleanser.
06:42 And I have to say, this is my new favorite face wash.
06:46 It comes out as this dark gray intimidating color.
06:51 Surprisingly it has a lemony scent.
06:53 For some reason I expected it to smell really charcoal-y, but the fact that it doesn't makes
06:58 it a lot more pleasant to use.
07:00 I've really been enjoying keeping this in the shower with me and using it with my Clarisonic.
07:04 I find that it's really good at removing makeup from my face.
07:09 So I usually use an oil cleanser and then follow it up with a regular cleanser.
07:13 But with this face wash I can actually just use this straight up and I won't feel like
07:18 there's foundation residue on my face, which is so nice because it's also not really harsh.
07:24 I'm very acne prone and right now my skin has been really dry.
07:27 So this has been a really nice product I would say for those who are acne prone like me.
07:33 So another face wash I've been really enjoying using this month.
07:37 This is the one I've been keeping by my sink versus the one in my shower.
07:40 This is the Honey & Note Gentle Deep Pore Cleanser, also from Michael Todd True Organics.
07:46 And this one I've been also really loving.
07:49 I usually use it in the mornings when I wake up and then I'll use the charcoal one at night
07:53 before I go to bed so it removes all my makeup.
07:55 And in the morning I don't have that foundation on my face.
07:58 So this one is actually more gentle than the other cleanser.
08:01 It just comes out in this slightly yellowish gel.
08:04 And this also has a nice refreshing grapefruit scent.
08:08 So it's great in the mornings because it's kind of invigorating.
08:11 This cleanser is also really great for those who have very allergic skin because honey
08:16 is so great at naturally being an antiseptic for your skin and restoring a lot of moisture
08:22 back into your face.
08:23 And then the oat is so good for allergies and really just calming everything down.
08:28 The next product I wanted to talk about is the Michael Todd Walnut Grapefruit Polishing
08:32 Scrub which my husband especially has been a little bit obsessed with.
08:37 I'm pretty sure it's starting to go down really quickly because of him.
08:42 I think he's secretly just sneaking off and just using tons of this all over his body
08:47 and then when he gets out of the shower he's like, "Yeah, I feel so great!
08:51 I love that new body wash you have in the shower!
08:54 What is it?"
08:55 And I'm like, "You know that one's mine.
08:59 I mean you can use it but it's okay.
09:01 We share bath products.
09:02 It's not a big deal."
09:04 I was just really surprised how much he took to it.
09:07 He really really likes it.
09:08 So those of you who have boyfriends or husbands, if they use just like the really manly cologne-y
09:13 body washes and you want them to not smell so heavy, stick this in the shower and I promise
09:19 you they'll be obsessed.
09:21 And then finally the last product I wanted to talk about is this Essie Nail Polish.
09:25 I just did a Manicure Monday on my blog reviewing this polish and I'm wearing it on my nails
09:29 right now.
09:30 I feel like teal is my current power color.
09:34 Last month it was this tangerine orange-y shade and this month for sure, between blue
09:39 and green, power color.
09:41 The one thing that I didn't mention on my blog as well is that it gets a little bit
09:46 darker as you wear it.
09:47 So over the last couple of days it's tinted just slightly darker but I've been loving
09:52 it.
09:53 I feel like even though the color is this blue-green, it still looks really girly and
09:57 pretty on the nails.
09:59 And can I add another random favorite?
10:01 I've been filing my nails pointy over the last few weeks and I've kind of been obsessed
10:08 with that as well.
10:09 So the new shape I've been rocking looks really great with this color.
