00:18 - And today we're gonna show you
00:19 this really awesome hairstyle
00:21 that I think will be perfect for a music festival,
00:24 summer party, any kind of celebration and festival.
00:27 I'm gonna call it, I don't know, what do you think?
00:29 What do you think we should call it?
00:30 - Bohemian?
00:31 - Bohemian, like yeah,
00:32 so sort of like a braided bohemian hairstyle.
00:35 It's sort of a half up, half down.
00:37 I'm not gonna lie, it's a bit complicated.
00:39 And that's why I have Zana here today.
00:41 So I'll be showing you the hairstyle on her
00:44 and not myself because that would just be very crazy.
00:47 It is possible to do it on yourself.
00:48 However, if you can find somebody to help you,
00:51 you'll save yourself a lot of unnecessary stress.
00:53 So let's get started.
00:54 - Let's do it, I'm excited.
00:56 - Let's go.
00:57 All right, so I'm gonna start as always
00:59 by brushing Zana's hair and then I'm gonna start curling it.
01:03 Zana is wearing the 220 gram set in Dirty Blonde.
01:06 As you can see, there's a lot of hair to work with.
01:09 So I'm just gonna speed up the curling process.
01:12 Once I brush the hair,
01:13 I'll just show you what I'm using to curl her hair.
01:15 I'm just gonna be using really big chunks of her hair.
01:18 So I'll just separate whatever I'm not curling away
01:22 and then I'll grab a section of hair just like that.
01:25 And this is already hot.
01:27 What I'm gonna do is just place the iron on top of the hair
01:31 and then just curl it around the barrel.
01:34 And this new thing that I do now when I curl
01:37 is I don't just hold the barrel in one spot.
01:39 I sort of let it slide a little bit
01:42 and then I'll hold it for a few seconds,
01:45 maybe something like 10.
01:47 And then when you release it,
01:48 you have a really nice, soft wave.
01:51 Just like that.
01:51 It's pretty.
01:52 (upbeat music)
01:55 All right, so I'm gonna continue curling Zany's hair
01:59 and I'm gonna speed it up
02:01 so that you guys can see what I have when I'm finished.
02:03 (upbeat music)
02:06 All right, so it took me about 15, 20 minutes
02:20 to curl all of Zany's hair.
02:22 And as you can see, the sliding curling iron action
02:26 that I was doing while curling the hair
02:28 creates curls that are just a bit more like loose
02:31 and effortless and just more softer, I would say.
02:34 So what I'm gonna do next,
02:35 I'm actually not even gonna hairspray it.
02:37 I want the hair to relax more and look more natural.
02:40 I'm just gonna run my fingers through the hair
02:43 just to loosen it up even more.
02:45 Just gonna brush it out like that.
02:49 And as you can see, it looks super beautiful
02:51 and feminine and romantic.
02:54 And the next thing I'm gonna do
02:56 is I'm gonna start creating this really cool braid
02:58 on the back of Zany's hair.
03:00 Okay, the first thing I'm gonna do
03:01 is create a regular three-strand braid.
03:03 I'm gonna go to Zany's head
03:05 and I'm gonna grab a section sort of more from the left.
03:09 That's going more from the left.
03:11 As you can see, sometimes we can see some wefts
03:14 because she's wearing luxies,
03:15 but once I'm gonna pin the hair,
03:17 you won't see anything that's underneath.
03:19 So I'm just gonna grab this section
03:21 and do a regular three-strand braid all the way down.
03:25 Once I reach the bottom of the braid,
03:32 I'm just gonna secure it with a clear hair elastic.
03:35 Then I'm gonna go to this braid
03:39 and I'm gonna do the same thing I showed you guys
03:41 in my previous hair tutorial on double braid.
03:44 So I'm gonna go into the right section of this braid
03:47 and I'm gonna create hooks.
03:48 So all I'm doing is just pulling on each strand
03:52 of the braid, just like that.
03:54 And I'm creating sort of a hook,
03:55 an opening that I can then use to braid in the other braid.
04:00 And you'll see what I mean in a moment.
04:02 But first, I'm just gonna create this hooks
04:04 all the way from top to bottom of the braid.
04:07 (upbeat music)
04:10 Now the next step is I'm gonna grab a section
04:19 that's right next to my braid, to the right of the braid,
04:22 and I'm gonna create a second three-strand braid.
04:24 However, as I'm gonna be creating this three-strand braid,
04:28 I will be braiding it through those hooks
04:31 or the loops that I created in the first braid.
04:34 So for example, here, as you can see,
04:36 I'm just using that opening to pull the first section
04:40 of the braid through the loop, just like that,
04:44 which connects the two braids together.
04:46 And then I'm just gonna do a regular three-strand braid down
04:50 and then as I have that one section again,
04:54 I'm gonna do the same thing.
04:56 I'm gonna bring it through the loop of the first braid
05:00 and continue braiding this regular three-strand braid
05:04 in this manner.
05:05 (upbeat music)
05:08 Okay, now I'm just gonna secure the second braid
05:22 and the first braid together.
05:23 And as you can see, I have two braids intertwined.
05:28 So now I'm just gonna go back into these two braids
05:30 and I'm gonna pull them out.
05:32 So I'm just gonna go into sections of these braids
05:36 and grab on them and just carefully pull the hair out.
05:40 And this creates an effect of a woven braid,
05:42 which it actually is.
05:44 As you can see, it's super pretty,
05:47 especially if you have highlights in your hair
05:50 or if you're wearing lighter hair extensions like Zana is,
05:53 you can just see the highlights so much more.
05:56 (upbeat music)
05:59 ♪ We belong to wherever we go ♪
06:03 - Now the next step will require you
06:05 a lot and a lot of bobby pins.
06:07 So what the next step is, placing this braid sideways,
06:10 so to the right, and then starting to pin it in place.
06:14 And I have some bobby pins here,
06:15 so we're first gonna place it sideways like that
06:19 and start pinning it.
06:20 We'll start from the bottom up, just like that.
06:26 And then from the top to bottom,
06:28 just sliding bobby pins in the hair.
06:32 And then we're gonna take the ends
06:35 and we're gonna go this way.
06:37 So just gonna go backwards.
06:39 So first it's gonna go to the right and then to the left,
06:41 and then we're gonna hide the tail inside of this.
06:44 And as you're doing this, if you see any sections
06:50 that you wanna pull out or fix,
06:52 you can just go ahead and do that.
06:56 So now I can see the tail came out through the bottom,
06:59 and I'm just gonna hide it back with a bobby pin.
07:02 So I'll just slide it under and pin it up.
07:05 Now the last step is gonna be actually creating
07:11 a French braid from the right side,
07:14 because we'll only have this sort of
07:15 in the middle of the head,
07:16 and you have some hair here from the left,
07:19 which looks nice, but from the right,
07:20 we gotta create a really small French braid.
07:24 So I'm gonna start with just creating
07:25 a regular three-strand braid first,
07:27 and as I'm gonna be braiding it,
07:29 I'm pulling it back because I'm gonna pin it in the back.
07:32 So first the three-strand braid,
07:33 and then I'm gonna add a section of hair
07:36 to the right section, so only to the right section.
07:39 So I'm just gonna grab a small chunk of hair
07:41 and add it to the right, incorporate that in,
07:45 and then braid it into the hair.
07:47 And then as I go down, I'm gonna continue adding
07:50 small chunks of hair only to the right section.
07:54 ♪ Yeah ♪
07:55 - And at this point, I'm gonna stop,
07:57 I'm gonna go back into the braid,
07:59 and I'm just gonna pull on these sections
08:01 that I French braided.
08:03 And then I'm just gonna pin it under.
08:07 And as you can see, I placed that braid over the weft,
08:13 so it kinda hides the weft and you can no longer see it.
08:16 And here I'm just gonna maybe place a few more bobby pins
08:19 to secure this braid in place.
08:21 ♪ I found that there's a way that you look at me ♪
08:24 - All right, so now that I fixed and pinned
08:26 everything in place, the hairstyle is finished,
08:29 and this is what it looks like.
