00:00 Hey guys, this is Jen and today I wanted to share with you my basic tooth care and whitening routine
00:06 as well as a few things that will help keep your teeth white in terms of habits with eating
00:12 and with basic mouth care.
00:14 So I hope you guys enjoy watching.
00:16 If you would like to see how to keep your teeth pearly white, then stay tuned.
00:21 To start off, I'm going to talk about whitening lightening, which is the tooth whitening system that I use.
00:26 I first heard about this from Kandi Johnson and her teeth are amazingly white, so I thought I would try it out myself as well.
00:33 What I really like about it is that it doesn't make my teeth sensitive.
00:37 Like, I've tried over-the-counter whitening strips and everything like that, and it makes my teeth really, really sensitive,
00:43 especially to cold, probably for about a week or two, and I just didn't want to go through with that.
00:48 I'm really happy to say that this is actually one that doesn't cause that for me.
00:53 I have this little dial thing so you can check the shade of your teeth.
00:56 Currently mine is... maybe it's like a 5?
00:59 So it comes with a little thing that you use to dry off your teeth first because then the stuff is going to adhere to your mouth better.
01:07 So you just kind of brush this.
01:09 You kind of have to try not to drill.
01:14 Then I'm going to take this little q-tip thing filled with vitamin E, and it's going to coat my gums so that the product doesn't get onto my gums.
01:21 *grunt*
01:23 Next I'm taking the gel and putting it on this little brush.
01:29 *grunt*
01:36 *grunt*
01:40 After the 20 minutes are up, you're going to want to brush your teeth.
01:47 So I just spit it out.
01:48 The good thing about this gel is it doesn't taste bitter and it doesn't have peroxide in it.
01:53 So it's not going to hurt or damage your teeth or anything.
01:55 That's about how it works and I'm going to move on to brushing my teeth now.
01:59 But if you're interested in the system, I'll have more information down below including a coupon code so you can get a bit of a discount.
02:04 The two things I use for teeth brushing are kind of my favorites.
02:08 They make my teeth brushing process a little more enjoyable even though it's so basic and you do it twice a day every day.
02:14 I really like what I'm using right now and I've been using the Aqua Fresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste.
02:21 I've used this for years. I love how it tastes and I feel like it really does keep my teeth whiter.
02:26 It doesn't necessarily make them go from dark to light but it kind of maintains the whiteness that you have.
02:32 So I really love this one and then I've been using the Philips Sonicare Toothbrush.
02:36 My husband actually got this for me for Christmas last year and I love it.
02:40 We have the system that has two brush heads and it also has the UV light so we don't have to worry about it getting contaminated if one of us gets sick.
02:48 I really love this and I use the sensitive brush head.
02:52 And then I make sure at the end to also brush my tongue because a lot of bacteria that may cause stinky breath and that sort of thing lives on your tongue.
03:02 So wash that tongue!
03:08 I would say it's like a four.
03:11 So that's pretty good. It went up a shade just from using it once.
03:15 So I do this maybe like once a week or once every other week.
03:19 So now that my teeth are all nice and clean, I wanted to talk about some of the things during your day that can cause a little bit of staining
03:26 and things you might avoid and things you might eat to help keep your teeth white.
03:30 So coffee, tea, and wine. All of these things can potentially stain your teeth.
03:35 So you're gonna want to keep your intake of those as minimal as possible.
03:39 So you might want to consider using a straw if you plan on drinking soda, which might be a little more difficult if you're drinking wine or coffee.
03:47 But another thing you might consider is maybe have cold coffee instead of hot coffee, which you can use a straw to drink from.
03:53 There are also a few foods that are actually good for your teeth as well because they physically scrape on the outside of your teeth while you're eating them,
04:01 which can make them look a little bit whiter.
04:04 A few of my favorites include apples and strawberries.
04:08 It sounds kind of funny because they're bright red, but they're actually really good for your teeth.
04:12 Keep eating those apples and strawberries!
04:14 Finally, flossing. It's one last step that you should do once a day in the evening after you brush your teeth.
04:21 And if you're really bad and lazy about flossing, I really like these little flossers.
04:26 They already come pre-stretched, so there's not a whole lot of effort you have to put into it.
04:32 So make sure you floss between those teeth, and that'll help keep the yellowing between your teeth at bay as well.
04:38 There you go.
04:39 On either side, wiggle and then pull up from between your teeth.
04:44 So I guess that's about it. I hope you enjoyed joining me in my bathroom once again.
04:52 If you have a favorite toothpaste, let me know that down in the comments because I'm always curious what makes people like different toothpaste.
05:01 I don't know if it's just me.
05:02 Anyway, let me know down in the comments.
