00:02 Coffee break with me, woo!
00:06 Hi guys!
00:07 Welcome back to my channel.
00:09 So, let's talk a little bit about my hair.
00:12 So, I decided a couple of videos ago,
00:16 I was like, you know what?
00:18 I am not feeling the curling iron,
00:19 I'm not feeling the blow dryer,
00:21 I'm not feeling anything today.
00:23 And I know my pandas love me so much,
00:26 they're going to love my natural hair.
00:29 So, I didn't know that you guys didn't know
00:32 that I have curly hair.
00:34 I have curly hair, but I don't have
00:37 like beautiful voluptuous curls and waves.
00:41 No, my hair is like,
00:45 like ferrets and rats crawled into my head
00:49 and then nested in there.
00:50 Like that's literally how my hair is.
00:52 So basically, this hairstyle is effortless.
00:57 I take a shower at night because
00:59 I wait until Tater falls asleep.
01:01 You know how sometimes if you have a child,
01:03 it's nice to take a shower without an audience.
01:06 So now what I have to do is
01:08 I have to wait for him to fall asleep,
01:10 and then I take a shower at night.
01:11 And when I fall asleep, sometimes I'm so tired,
01:14 my hair is still wet and it wakes up
01:16 and it's just a big old mess like this.
01:17 So the only thing I do is I take Ozzy's
01:20 leave-in conditioner mousse.
01:22 I think it's called, it used to be called Catch the Wave.
01:26 But then they changed the packaging and everything.
01:28 I think now it's called Sprunch.
01:30 Like crunch, but with an S, well with an SP,
01:34 you know what I mean.
01:35 I think it's called Sprunch now,
01:36 but it's just like a purple mousse tube.
01:39 And the only reason I found it was because
01:40 I had a coupon and it was cheap,
01:41 and now it's the only product I use to style my hair
01:44 when I want to maintain the hold,
01:47 you know, besides hairspray.
01:49 And it just helps because it holds the style,
01:54 but it's soft, you can still touch your hair.
01:56 Anyway, with my long introduction,
01:58 the purpose of this video is for me to share
02:00 my hotter month's foundation routine.
02:05 I don't know where you guys live,
02:07 but here in Dallas, when it is hot, it is hot.
02:11 I mean, super hot.
02:13 You go outside for two minutes,
02:14 and if you're out there, you feel like you're cooking.
02:16 You smell like pot roast.
02:18 Like you start to smell like you are cooking.
02:20 That's how hot it is here.
02:22 So five or six days out of the week,
02:24 I don't have anything on my face except sunscreen,
02:27 my moisturizer, whatever, but like naked face to the core.
02:31 Nothing on my face because it's just too much work.
02:34 But I do have places to go, people to see.
02:38 I'll have some stuff to take care of, like buy diapers.
02:42 So when I do want to look nice, I go all out.
02:46 And that's what I was telling you guys in a previous video
02:48 in my bronze goddess panda face or whatever,
02:52 that tutorial, I told you.
02:53 I'm a mom.
02:54 I don't typically do my makeup very often.
02:57 When I do, I want it to count.
02:59 So this is my foundation routine when I want it to count.
03:02 Basically what I do is I take a matte,
03:04 full coverage foundation, and I mix it halfway.
03:07 So one part foundation and one part illuminator
03:11 to thin out the consistency, to give myself a glowy look,
03:15 but to also last throughout the day.
03:20 So my favorite foundation to use to do this thing,
03:26 this foundation cocktail, is the Estee Lauder Double Wear.
03:31 But you could use other foundations like the Becca,
03:34 Becca Complexion Cream, I think it's called.
03:39 Gorgeous Cosmetics Foundation, that one's really great.
03:42 Any full coverage foundation.
03:43 You could even take like your Kat Von D,
03:45 even though it's really thick and heavy
03:46 and yucky in my opinion.
03:48 You could take any matte, full coverage foundation
03:50 and you mix it, one part foundation, one part illuminator.
03:54 So what happens throughout the day is
03:57 you get that nice, full coverage finish,
03:59 but you still have that glow.
04:01 So as your foundation starts to wear off of your face
04:03 because of the heat, you're not gonna look like a hot mess.
04:06 You're just going to look radiant and glowy
04:08 because you're going to have the shimmer
04:10 or the illuminating particles
04:12 from the illuminator that you used.
04:14 So you're kind of cheating the system.
04:16 Not to mention, you're thinning out
04:18 an otherwise heavy foundation
04:20 and it's going to be a lot more comfortable to wear.
04:23 So it's almost like you're making your own foundation.
04:26 So like I said, my favorite foundation
04:28 to use in the hotter months is the Estee Lauder Double Wear.
04:31 I'm in the color Rattan or 2W2.
04:36 And I really like this foundation.
04:38 It gives you full coverage, some matte finish,
04:40 but when you mix in that illuminator,
04:41 you still get that perfect, flawless face,
04:44 but with almost like a glow.
04:46 I don't know if you guys can tell.
04:47 Maybe it's just in my head.
04:49 But it gives you a really nice glow.
04:51 After that, you want to find an illuminator
04:53 that works for you.
04:55 The illuminator that I really like
04:57 and that I used until it ran out
04:58 and I had to throw it away was Girl Meets Pearl.
05:01 I'll list it down below in case you're curious.
05:03 Girl Meets Pearl from Benefit Cosmetics
05:06 is a great illuminator because it's a pearl color.
05:10 So it illuminates almost all skin tones.
05:14 Two illuminators that I'm loving at the moment
05:16 are the Revlon Photo Ready Skin Lights in Nude,
05:19 I believe it's called, no, in Bare,
05:21 and the BB Plus from Gerard Cosmetics.
05:25 This is a product that just got released
05:28 from the same people that do Whitening Lightning
05:30 and the Dial a Smile and all those things.
05:32 So they also released this product.
05:34 And when I first got it, I was like,
05:36 what is this?
05:38 What is this thing in this black tube?
05:40 It's so weird because it's like a squeezy tube
05:42 but it has a pump at the end so it's kind of confusing.
05:45 The illuminator in here--
05:47 (child yelling)
05:48 Tater's just high.
05:49 The illuminator in here is really, really golden
05:52 and it does have shimmer.
05:54 But it is the perfect illuminator
05:56 to mix into a full coverage foundation
05:58 because it takes away that hardness about it.
06:03 It softens your face.
06:04 It's the one that I used
06:05 and you guys are gonna see in a minute.
06:08 It's the one that I used
06:09 and you could use it as a highlight.
06:10 You could use it on the center of your lips
06:12 as a little bit of gloss, whatever.
06:14 It's a really versatile product
06:15 but I prefer to use it in my foundation.
06:19 It's such a great idea
06:20 because it just, it thins out a foundation
06:22 that would be otherwise too thick
06:24 and it gives you a lighter coverage
06:26 but it also gives you that glow.
06:28 So I do recommend this product
06:30 but if you are wanting to try it sooner or locally,
06:33 try the Revlon Skin Lights
06:36 or the Benefit one that I was telling you guys
06:38 about, these are great.
06:39 So these are great tricks to implement
06:41 into your summer foundation routine.
06:44 Another thing that you wanna do
06:45 is you wanna make sure you have a primer
06:46 and I probably should have talked about this first
06:49 but I forgot.
06:50 So you want a primer that either has sun protection,
06:53 that is going to prolong the wear of your makeup,
06:56 that's going to blur your fine lines.
06:57 You wanna find out what your reason
06:59 for needing a primer is.
07:01 I don't have oily skin, I don't have an oily T-zone,
07:03 I don't struggle with wide, big, crater-sized pores
07:08 but I do have a lot of fine lines.
07:10 You guys can tell just from watching me,
07:12 I look like a caricature.
07:14 You know, I'm a cartoon.
07:15 I have so many facial expressions.
07:17 I swear, the muscles on my face are stronger
07:20 than like a bodybuilder
07:21 because I have so many facial expressions.
07:23 So sadly, because I'm so emotive,
07:27 I have a lot, a lot of fine lines.
07:29 So I do want a primer that's going to blur
07:32 those imperfections
07:34 and I really like the Benefit Professional.
07:38 Ty, you know, I don't know,
07:40 time and time and time will pass.
07:41 I've tried so many different primers.
07:43 You guys, my hair is getting out of control.
07:45 I've tried so many different primers
07:47 and I always come back to this one.
07:49 I don't know why, I always come back to her.
07:52 There's a little girl in the front
07:53 so I always come back to her.
07:54 And I really, really like it.
07:56 And then of course, after you do all that jazz on your face,
07:59 you wanna make sure that you use a powder
08:02 that's going to prolong the wear of your makeup.
08:05 You don't wanna look like you're wearing powder.
08:07 You want to apply such a thin layer of powder
08:11 so that when your skin breathes
08:13 and releases its natural oils,
08:15 that powder is going to freeze them in place.
08:19 Does that make sense?
08:20 So you're not putting on powder,
08:22 you're placing it so strategically
08:24 so that when your face breathes,
08:27 releases its oils or you sweat,
08:28 it captures that moisture
08:31 and still makes you look natural,
08:33 not like you have Play-Doh on your face.
08:35 Do you know what I mean?
08:36 In this tutorial, I did use a concealer
08:39 that I prefer to use during the summer.
08:41 And although it's more emollient or creamy,
08:44 I like to use it because it does have some protection
08:46 and I do have freckles.
08:48 Some of you caught it in my Inglot video
08:51 because I wasn't wearing very heavy foundation
08:53 in that video, but I do have freckles.
08:55 In this area here, I look like, what's her name?
08:59 The girl from Frozen, the redhead,
09:01 not the pretty blonde one with the voluptuous braid.
09:04 I swear I look like her.
09:05 I have those little tiny freckles
09:07 all across the bridge of my nose and under my eyes.
09:10 And as soon as that hot summer sun comes out,
09:13 they get darker.
09:14 So I prefer to use a concealer
09:16 that does have some protection
09:18 because freckles are cute when you're younger,
09:20 but as you get older, they don't look bad.
09:23 I love freckles, I love my freckles,
09:26 but the darker they get,
09:27 the harder they are to lighten back up
09:29 because they are pigmentation.
09:32 You know, it is hyperpigmentation, they are sunspots.
09:34 So in the long run, it's gonna get to a point
09:37 where you can't really lighten them so much.
09:39 So I like to use the Dermablend Concealer.
09:42 All these products that I'm sharing with you guys,
09:44 I will list in the description box below
09:45 in case you missed something.
09:47 So this one has an SPF of 20, which really helps,
09:50 but I only use this to cover my dark under eye area.
09:54 So I get the one that's my color,
09:56 a little bit more of a salmon tone to cover my panda eyes.
10:00 And then I use the MAC Light Boost Pen
10:03 to just kind of highlight my face,
10:05 but that's not part of my normal, normal routine.
10:07 I just did that today because I was feeling
10:09 extra glamorous with my extra puffy hair and red lips.
10:13 So if you guys are interested in seeing
10:15 how I apply these products for my summer foundation routine,
10:19 then just keep watching.
10:21 Okay, the very first thing I'm gonna do is take my primer,
10:24 and this is kind of my ride or die primer.
10:27 I always go back to it.
10:28 I try different primers, I really like them,
10:30 and for some reason, this one ends up
10:32 falling in my life again.
10:35 This is not a primer that's going to keep you matte
10:38 if you are very oily, but it is a primer
10:41 that's going to kind of blur your imperfections
10:44 and camouflage those pores.
10:45 And I only concentrate my primer in the center of my face.
10:49 So I'm going to do first patting motions,
10:53 like I'm pushing the product into my skin.
10:59 Just like that, so kind of patting motions into the face.
11:03 And then once I've done that, I just blend it out
11:06 towards the outside of my face,
11:09 or towards the rim of my face,
11:10 or whatever you want to call it.
11:12 And then just kind of blend it out.
11:13 This is a dimethicone primer, so it is like a silicone primer
11:18 so it has that weird little silkiness about it.
11:23 It doesn't need to dry or get absorbed.
11:26 It kind of just sits on the top of your skin.
11:29 After that, what I'm going to do is apply my foundation
11:33 mixed with an illuminator.
11:34 And you guys know that I live here in Dallas,
11:36 and I'm from California,
11:37 so we're not used to the extreme weather.
11:40 When I just moved here, I looked like a hot mess
11:43 with the foundation that I would apply
11:44 because in San Diego, I was just used to
11:48 using whatever I wanted and never having issues with it.
11:51 Here, you kind of have to twerk your,
11:55 did I just say twerk?
11:56 I just said twerk.
11:57 You kind of have to play around with your routine
11:59 until you find something that works for you.
12:02 This is a routine if you have somewhere to go
12:06 that you want a full face of makeup.
12:08 This is not what I do every day.
12:10 In fact, five out of seven days a week,
12:13 I don't have anything on my face except sunscreen
12:15 or like the Miracle Blur from L'Oreal,
12:20 where it's sunscreen and a pore or line minimizer,
12:23 something like that.
12:24 But usually, I just have naked face.
12:26 But if I'm going somewhere and I wanna look nice,
12:28 this is the foundation routine that I do.
12:30 I take a full coverage foundation because it's what I like,
12:33 but a matte full coverage foundation
12:35 because I figure with the weather how it is here,
12:38 your face is naturally going to produce oils and sweat.
12:41 So if you go from a matte foundation in the morning
12:44 throughout the day, it's going to transition
12:46 into a dewier finish or it's going to give you
12:51 a more natural look than if you start off
12:53 with a dewy finish.
12:54 By lunchtime, you're going to look
12:56 like you went to a water park.
12:57 You know what I mean?
12:58 So you wanna kind of trick the weather
13:03 or the condition that you're in
13:05 so that you don't look like a hot mess by lunchtime.
13:08 The foundation that I like to use to achieve that look
13:11 here in Dallas with this weather
13:13 is the Estee Lauder Double Wear.
13:15 This foundation is magic.
13:17 It will keep your face looking great
13:19 for hours and hours and hours.
13:21 And it always makes you feel good to use it
13:23 because it does have SPF of 10.
13:26 I mean, that's not much, but it's something.
13:29 So that always helps.
13:30 And I always take one pump of this foundation on my hand.
13:35 And because I don't want that really, really hardcore,
13:37 intense, super full coverage, I mix it with an illuminator.
13:41 I've been loving lately, but you have to be careful
13:44 when you use it, is the BB Plus from Gerard Cosmetics.
13:47 This is the same company that makes my favorite glosses
13:50 from Whitening Lightning or Dial a Smile or whatever.
13:54 And this is an illuminator for someone
13:56 with medium skin tone.
13:59 I think if you're very, very fair,
14:01 it would look a little bit too dark.
14:03 So I just take a little bit, like maybe half a pump
14:06 onto the back of my hand.
14:08 Look at that, Ernie attacked me.
14:11 Ernie, my Australian blue healer, is so wild.
14:15 And I always have wounds on my skin.
14:18 So mix it on the back of my hand.
14:20 And then just pat it on my face.
14:22 You kinda wanna work fast with the Double Wear
14:25 because it does dry fast.
14:26 So sometimes what I'll do is I'll just do
14:28 like maybe half of my face.
14:30 And then with whatever is left over on my hand
14:34 or from blending out, I'll do the rest of my face.
14:39 So I won't actually pat it on all of my face.
14:44 Just so that I don't get those dry marks
14:47 around where I pat it.
14:50 Does that make sense?
14:51 You guys, I swear, for new subscribers,
14:53 I need to be like, there's a Dani dictionary
14:56 available to you.
14:57 So I'm taking my trusty Beauty Blender.
15:01 You guys, I love my Beauty Blender.
15:03 I'm all about the Beauty Blender life.
15:05 I don't know what I did with foundation
15:07 before my Beauty Blender.
15:08 Oh, I know, I used to only use powder foundation.
15:11 My very first expensive, fancy beauty product
15:16 was MAC Studio Fix in the powder form.
15:21 And that was my foundation, that was my powder,
15:23 that was my everything.
15:24 Oh my God, you guys, the sponge would get so dirty.
15:27 It was so janky and nasty.
15:30 But I was all about my Studio Fix powder foundation.
15:33 I remember the first time I had to buy it on my own
15:35 because my mom bought it for me at first.
15:37 When I bought it for the first time,
15:39 I was like, why is this so expensive?
15:43 So can you guys tell?
15:44 I have it on this side and I don't have it on this side.
15:47 This side looks a little bit more raw.
15:49 You know, you still see a little bit of pink and redness.
15:52 And this side still looks like normal skin,
15:55 like naked, normal skin.
15:56 But it's almost like glowy and even.
16:00 And that's kind of what you wanna achieve in the summer.
16:01 You don't wanna be one of those girls
16:03 that looks like you have 10 pounds of makeup,
16:06 you put your sunglasses on,
16:07 and then your sunglasses peel off
16:09 around your nose, on the sides of your head,
16:12 wherever you're supposed to have makeup.
16:15 You don't wanna be one of those girls.
16:16 Do not be one of those girls.
16:18 Just gonna do the rest.
16:21 Okay, so you guys can see my face.
16:23 It looks, I feel almost like it looks covered,
16:27 but glowy and radiant, you know?
16:31 It does have a tiny, tiny bit of shimmer,
16:34 but it's so fine, so micro.
16:36 It's almost like a micro pearl shimmer.
16:38 Like, it's miniature, you can't really see it.
16:40 In fact, it's so small that you would only,
16:44 it would only give you a glow.
16:45 Like, it only gives you a glow.
16:46 It would only.
16:47 It only gives you a glow,
16:48 unless someone is like making out with you,
16:51 they're not gonna be able to see
16:52 that you have like sparkly stuff on your face.
16:55 After I do that, so I mix the illuminator
16:59 with a matte full coverage foundation
17:02 to kind of dilute it or make it thinner.
17:05 Then what I'm going to do is I'm going to take
17:08 this special concealer.
17:09 I like to use this concealer during the summer
17:11 because it does have an SPF of 20.
17:15 And like I said, that always makes me feel
17:16 a little bit better.
17:18 I didn't know what sun was until I moved here to Dallas.
17:21 If you go outside in the summer
17:23 and just stand there for two minutes,
17:24 you feel like you're cooking.
17:26 Like, you start to smell like bacon, basically.
17:29 This is the Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Concealer.
17:33 This is a medium coverage concealer,
17:35 and I'm in the color Sand.
17:37 I bought this color to cover the dark circles,
17:40 but it's definitely too dark to highlight.
17:42 You guys can see that?
17:43 It's like a orange or peachy undertone.
17:47 So it's going to conceal the darkness,
17:50 but it's not going to highlight.
17:51 So I wouldn't carry this too far down my face.
17:55 This would also be a good one for blemishes or scarring
18:04 if you wanted to cover that up,
18:06 but it's definitely not for highlighting.
18:08 Although you could buy a lighter shade
18:10 and use the lighter shade for highlighting,
18:12 but like I said, I just use this for my dark circles.
18:15 So I pat it in with my ring finger,
18:17 which is your weakest finger,
18:19 and it's going to cause less pull and stress on your face.
18:22 And then just take the pointy side of your beauty blender
18:25 and push it into your skin.
18:27 And I always look up so that I can get up
18:30 to the farthest part of my lower lid.
18:33 Like that.
18:37 And then normally what I do is I just set everything
18:41 with a really lightweight translucent powder.
18:44 But because I'm going to film additional videos right now,
18:47 I do want to highlight.
18:49 So in case you're wondering,
18:50 I'm not going to show you guys this step,
18:51 but this is the MAC Prep and Prime in Light Boost.
18:54 This is the yellow one.
18:55 I like to use the yellow one,
18:57 but that's what I'm going to use in case you're curious.
19:00 And then after I do this,
19:02 I'm going to show you guys how I set
19:04 with my favorite setting powder for the summer.
19:07 Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to take
19:08 this Neutrogena Shine Control Powder,
19:10 and this is just a pressed powder.
19:13 I think it's made with rice.
19:15 So it keeps you matte.
19:18 It's sheer enough to be translucent,
19:22 but it's also heavy enough so that you could layer it
19:26 on top.
19:27 If you do have facial hair, I know this sounds like weird,
19:32 but if you have facial hair, I know,
19:33 like for example, I have a little bit more
19:36 like fuzziness over here.
19:37 You can't see it, but some women have it
19:40 a little bit more visible.
19:41 If you do have any type of facial hair
19:43 or peach fuzz on your face,
19:46 this is not a good powder because the powder
19:48 will cling to the powder.
19:50 The powder will cling to the hair.
19:51 So you would have to spray with, you know,
19:54 rose water or Max Fix Plus or a B6 spray something
19:57 afterwards so that you couldn't see the powder
20:00 on top of the hair.
20:01 So it is a good powder.
20:03 It does keep you matte, but keep that in mind.
20:06 Also, I think if you were a lot more tan
20:10 or I would even say if you, you know,
20:14 are a woman of color, it would probably look white
20:17 on your skin.
20:18 So I wouldn't try it because if you see,
20:19 I'm light to medium skin tone,
20:24 and you guys can see that on the tip of my finger.
20:27 So it is kind of white, but it does,
20:29 it is something that helps me.
20:30 So, you know, keep that in mind.
20:32 Plus you could get it with coupons and on sale.
20:35 I'm going to take my Wayne Goss number two brush.
20:38 I got this when I was at IMAX.
20:40 This brush has changed my life, my whole being.
20:46 And I'm going to do that, use that underneath
20:49 to set my concealer first because I don't want
20:51 that to crease.
20:53 Tater says hi.
20:54 And then all the areas that I highlighted,
20:57 the center of my face, my chin,
21:02 and then with a bigger brush,
21:03 this is the Real Techniques blush brush.
21:05 This is my powder brush.
21:07 Look how big it is.
21:08 The more you use it, the bigger it gets.
21:10 I can't imagine putting blush with this on.
21:13 I mean, I guess you could,
21:14 but I do use this for powder.
21:17 So I just give it a little swirl in there
21:19 and kind of puff it on the bigger areas of my face.
21:22 And that is my current foundation routine.
21:28 Again, this is the face that I do
21:30 when I have something to do
21:32 or I want to have a full face of makeup
21:34 because girls, let me be honest with you guys,
21:36 in the summer, it's not comfortable to wear so much makeup.
21:40 So five out of seven days,
21:42 I have a naked, naked, naked face.
21:44 Let me finish my makeup and I'll be right back.
21:46 (upbeat music)
21:49 (upbeat music)
21:51 (upbeat music)
21:54 (upbeat music)
21:56 (upbeat music)
21:59 (upbeat music)
22:01 (upbeat music)
22:03 What do you guys think?
22:04 It is very easy.
22:05 I use my beauty blender.
22:07 You guys know I'm obsessed with my beauty blender.
22:09 It is a really easy way to just get a fresh face
22:12 but still look really put together, glowy and radiant.
22:16 I'd love to know if you guys have any recommendations
22:18 on illuminators or maybe a foundation
22:21 that works for you during the summer
22:23 because you guys know I'm from California
22:25 and I'm not used to,
22:26 even though I've been here for several years,
22:28 I am not used to this hot summer sun
22:30 and just foundations,
22:33 the only one that does not completely melt off my face
22:36 is the Estee Lauder Double Wear.
22:37 So maybe you guys have another secret recipe
22:40 you guys can share with me.
22:41 Hacks that I mentioned will be listed
22:43 in the description box below
22:44 along with where I got my necklace, my shirt, blah, blah, blah.
