00:12 So my name is Courtney Funk and I'll just be showing you how I achieve a long-lasting beachy wave look.

01:09 Okay so I have super thick hair so I am using the 32 millimeter on delay wand and that has a titanium barrel so that will help with like thick more coarse hair.
01:25 So my hair it's harder to curl. Actually I'm gonna spray before I put this all up.
01:33 So I'm gonna use this is the Rival heat shield. It's keratin infused and it smells like melon. It smells so good.
01:42 So I'm just gonna spray this all through my hair so that my hair is protected when I go to curl it.

01:58 I have so much dang hair and I love having kind of a more like dressed down but loose beachy look for summertime.
02:13 So I've loved using this bigger barrel of wand because it still gives me that loose look but my hair will last for a couple of days.

02:47 So I just spray that heat shield and I just want to let it soak in for just a minute.
02:54 And then it'll activate those ingredients so that it'll really protect my hair.

03:08 Um you know I'm not sure on the purple shampoo but Launch should be able to ask that for you or answer that for you.
03:15 Okay so I'm going to use this Deja Vu dry shampoo just so I have a little bit of texture in my hair.
03:21 And I don't know about you guys but dry shampoo is like a game changer for me.
03:31 Because I have so much hair it's kind of a pain to wash it often and so I love using dry shampoo so I don't have to do it quite so frequently.

03:50 Okay so to get a beachy curl I, is the heat shield dry?
03:57 The heat shield is, it's clear but you just let it soak in until it gets dry and then it gets activated.

04:11 I have, I love having long hair but it's also like it takes a while to get things done sometimes.
04:18 So when I only have to curl my hair like once or twice a week because it'll last longer with this wand.
04:24 Um that's exciting.
04:27 Okay so I'm just going to take, I'm sectioning my hair out and I'm just going to take smaller pieces.
04:33 And I want to make sure that this piece is flat so that when I lay it on my barrel it won't be like a rope.
04:40 It'll lay flat.
04:42 That'll help me give the more beachy look.
04:45 So I'm just going to take my wand and flip it downwards.
04:50 And then I'm just going to wrap around and lay that flat.
04:58 Does it make your hair softer oily?
05:03 It makes your hair soft. I have really dry hair.
05:06 Um but it actually still, well it won't, it doesn't have a, I don't feel like it's really oil based.
05:14 It just feels good in your hair and it smells great and works really well.

05:21 So I just hold that for a second and then let go.
05:25 And I like to keep kind of more of a tail out.
05:36 The sea salt spray, so the sea salt spray, um, Launch can probably ask that better for you but, or answer that better for you.
05:45 But I like to use it before I do my hair just to create some more texture.
05:50 I'm using the dry shampoo right now because I'm all out of the sea salt spray but it smells amazing.
05:57 And if you have harder to curl hair it will help give you that texture so that your hair will last longer or just curl a little bit better.
06:10 So Nancy there's two different wands.
06:15 So there is the titanium wand, this is the on-delay.
06:19 So this is better for thick, more coarse hair that's harder to curl.
06:24 And there's also a ceramic wand called the luster and that would probably work better for your fine hair.
06:30 Um, so there's two really great options.

07:15 It just gives a little bit of texture but not too much to make it feel gross.

07:37 Okay, so then I'm just switching to this other side and again make sure that you keep your barrel down and your hair is flat.
07:45 So, just hold that and then I just kind of let it fall down.

08:05 And for me with my longer thick hair, um, sectioning it out probably makes the biggest difference.
08:13 Yes, the sea salt spray is amazing. You will have to try that.
08:25 Especially for summertime if you're, like, wanting to go to the pool or the beach, you can have that all ready and just spray a little in there and give yourself a little curl and you'll be good to go.

08:43 Yes, the sea salt spray does have a scent to it. It smells amazing.
08:51 I love using a wand because then you don't have to deal with, like, the clip on a barrel of a curling iron.
09:03 I just feel like that's one more thing that you have to worry about and this is nice because you can just wrap it around so it makes it so easy.
09:12 Anyone can do it.
09:17 And this, again, this is the, um, Ondelet 32mm. So, this is the bigger size. There's also a 25mm.
09:26 So, um, this is great for longer hair and then if you have, like, shorter shoulder length hair, um, the 25mm would be perfect for you.

10:04 Okay, so, see, I keep maybe, like, about an inch and a half out and just hold it for a couple of seconds and let it fall down.
10:17 And if you kind of hold it, like, in your, in the palm of your hand and then let it, um, fall down, that'll let it kind of hold a little bit better and then it can cool down.

10:38 Yes, so, the 25 is better for, it's smaller, so it is going to give you, um, a tighter curl than what the 32mm will give you.
10:49 But I still feel like the 32mm, I washed my hair yesterday, so it's still fairly clean.
10:59 Um, but I can probably get my hair to last, I don't know, two days, two or three days, um, with the 32mm.
11:12 But the 25mm, I, you could use that if you wanted a tighter curl and then it'll obviously fall out with time.
11:20 So, if you just wanted to curl your hair once a week, the 25mm would be a super great option, too.
11:26 And you could still keep it for a while, keep that curl.

14:17 So, you'll have your wand out and then wrap your hair in front of the wand and wrap around.

17:04 So I... because I love to curl my hair, I just try to keep, um, like my blow-drying to a minimum.

17:18 And then I will, um, blow-dry just right at the end so that I still have some volume and it's not flat.

17:30 And I really just think that has helped my hair a ton.
17:34 Drinking water is super important.
17:37 Make sure you drink a lot of water and stay hydrated because that will help your hair grow.

19:55 Just let it set and cool down before you do that.

20:09 And I normally do about... because I have such thick hair, I will do about four sections that I part off.
20:18 And then I'll curl those separately.

20:37 Lily, there is a wand that you can use that has a ceramic barrel that will...
20:45 it's still safe to use on your hair to get it curled without damaging it.

20:59 So again, take your wand, put the barrel down, and then wrap around and make sure this hair is flat as you're wrapping it.

21:34 So this will get up to 410 degrees, which is, they say, the perfect temperature for your hair to get a good curl.

21:51 So this is just pretty simple. You just turn it on and it heats right up to 410 degrees.

22:23 But because I have so much hair, it normally takes a little bit longer just to get through all of it so that I can get it to last longer.

23:14 And I used that to create some texture on my hair so that when I curl it, it'll kind of have something to, the wand will have something to grasp to.
23:26 So it'll curl a little bit better with that.

27:28 Um, so normally I can get, when I use the 32 millimeter, I can normally get my curls to last two to three days.
27:35 And then I'll normally just re-curl and touch them up again.
27:39 And obviously my hair, your hair will curl better if it's more dirty.
27:44 So if I just touch those curls up, it'll really make things last.

28:08 Okay, Chrissy. For shoulder length hair, I would say the 25 millimeter. And then, um, that can kind of, it'll hold a pretty good curl.
28:20 And, um, over like a day or two it'll kind of fall out and be even looser, but still last.

41:33 And then I am going to show you guys a few other things.
41:38 So, I am just going to use this Root Booster.
41:43 So, if I want a little bit of volume in the root of my hair...

42:09 Anyways, okay, I'll just use the dry shampoo. This works just as well, but the Root Booster is amazing.
42:14 Um, a lot will shoot out from the top of it, so you'll want to section off your hair and just put it in the root of it,
42:22 but make sure that you spray it far away because it will shoot out.
42:26 Like, it'll blast out a lot of product, so you don't need very much at all.
42:31 So, just hold it, like, I don't know, 6 to 8 inches away from your hair and just spray it in up right by your root,
42:38 and that'll give you some really great volume.
42:40 So, I am just going to...
42:43 Since I don't know where my lid just disappeared to, like the nozzle, that is the weirdest thing.
42:51 I was just using that.
42:53 Okay, so I'm just going to use some dry shampoo and that'll still give me some volume.
42:58 Let's see if I can get this up a little bit more.

43:42 And I am just taking small sections up by the root of my hair and just spraying a little bit of this in,
43:50 and this'll help give me volume plus keep my hair cleaner throughout the next couple of days.
43:57 And I'm just going to spray a little bit.
43:59 I get a little bit oily back behind my ears, and so this is awesome to combat that.
44:08 And then once you let it kind of soak in, then you can take your fingers and just work it into your hair a little bit.

44:35 No, Mia, the dry shampoo is clear, which is so dang handy because I have dark hair,
44:45 so it doesn't leave a white powdery residue, which is probably my favorite thing about the dry shampoo.
