00:00 (upbeat music)
00:02 Hey guys, so today I'm going to be doing a makeup tutorial
00:18 on the look that I'm wearing right now.
00:19 Obviously, I say that at the beginning
00:21 of every single intro.
00:23 I have no idea what I'm calling this video yet,
00:25 which I also say at the beginning of every single intro.
00:28 Anyways, tons of you guys have been requesting
00:30 a cat eye makeup look, so it's exactly what I wanted to do.
00:33 I honestly have a list, like a mile long of makeup tutorials
00:36 that I am just kind of going down the list one by one,
00:39 and this was the next one on that list.
00:42 I absolutely love this look, you guys.
00:43 It is so beautiful, it's so flattering.
00:45 I've done it on tons of people before.
00:46 It is just gorgeous.
00:47 What this look is really going to do
00:49 is it's gonna give you that almond-shaped eye,
00:51 and it's really going to elevate.
00:52 So for those of you who want more structure
00:54 or more of an almond shape or elevated eye,
00:56 this look is for you.
00:58 Just remember that you can, of course, modify this look
01:01 and create your own version of this cat eye
01:03 to fit your needs, your eye shape,
01:05 and what you are comfortable with.
01:06 But I absolutely love this.
01:08 I love the technique.
01:09 It's completely different than anything I've ever done before
01:11 and you guys will see how easy it actually is.
01:14 It looks much more complicated and complex
01:16 than like a picture that you're gonna see that it actually is.
01:18 So I hope that you guys enjoy.
01:20 I enjoy making this tutorial for you.
01:22 I love you guys, and if you wanna see
01:23 how to achieve this look, then just keep watching.
01:25 Bye guys.
01:26 Hey guys, so first thing I'm doing is moisturizing my lips.
01:30 I always do this before I start my makeup
01:32 so my lipstick goes on more smoothly at the end
01:34 and there's no chapped lip skin in the way.
01:36 Then I'm just gonna throw my hair up in a high ponytail
01:38 so I get all that hair out of my face
01:40 so you guys can see what we're doing.
01:41 I'm going to prime my lids.
01:42 I'm using MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20.
01:45 This is my favorite all-time primer for the lids
01:47 because it conceals and primes at the same time,
01:50 so it's perfection.
01:52 Then I'm going to be going in with my new babies.
01:54 Oh my gosh, I love these eyeshadows so much.
01:56 These are the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Eyeshadows.
02:00 They will be releasing next month
02:02 and you guys will be the first to know
02:04 because I will let you know the second they release.
02:06 They are beautiful.
02:08 I'm going to be going in with the shade Birkin.
02:10 This is just a really nice neutral tone.
02:12 It's great for that crease area as a transition color.
02:15 It's very similar to a MAC soft brown type shade
02:18 if you're familiar with that.
02:20 I am using a Sigma E40 blending brush
02:22 to dust this all over that entire crease area.
02:24 You can put this all over the lid if you want.
02:26 You don't really have to.
02:27 We're really just focusing on that crease area
02:29 and just buffing it out nice and gently
02:31 with no harsh lines.
02:33 Then I'm going to be going in with a gel eyeliner.
02:35 This is the key to this look.
02:36 I'm using Maybelline Eye Studio.
02:38 It's from the drugstore.
02:39 It's black as can be and it's awesome sauce.
02:42 So what I'm going to do is create an outer wing.
02:45 I am using a E65 by Sigma.
02:48 I didn't know what brush that was for a minute.
02:49 And I'm going to create kind of like a bat type wing
02:52 where I literally just carve out that V
02:54 and then sharpen it up.
02:56 Once I've done that, I'm gonna go in with the shade Smoke.
02:58 This is again gonna be a new shade
03:00 by Anastasia Beverly Hills.
03:02 And then using a Morphe M321 brush,
03:05 which is literally the most perfect brush for this technique,
03:07 I'm gonna take that brown color
03:09 and literally as you're seeing,
03:10 just smudge it and smoke it out.
03:13 It is so simple.
03:14 Then I'm gonna go back with that same black liner
03:17 and just darken it up a bit
03:18 and you will have this look right here.
03:20 It's so simple but it looks so much more complex than it is.
03:24 Then what I'm gonna do is just go in
03:25 and do a normal liner right on that lash line
03:28 just like you would any other day
03:30 just to kind of connect that wing to the inner corner.
03:32 Then what I'm gonna do to create that inner corner cat eye
03:35 is follow the natural tear duct of my eye.
03:38 Some people's inner corners
03:39 are gonna go a little bit more down than others.
03:41 Some are gonna go more straight out.
03:42 I typically find if you want it to look the best
03:44 for your eye shape when your eyes are open and closed,
03:46 just follow that natural tear duct.
03:49 So now I'm obviously just gonna do
03:50 the exact same thing to the other eye.
03:52 Again, I just draw out that V with an angled brush
03:56 and then I just fill it in.
03:57 As you'll see right here, you might feel like,
03:59 wait, what do I do with the eyeliner?
04:00 'Cause you naturally wanna connect it to something.
04:02 Don't.
04:03 Just literally buff it into the eye, leave it alone,
04:06 go back with a super dark brown matte shade
04:08 and just buff it out.
04:10 You don't really wanna buff that dark color
04:11 up into the crease.
04:12 You more wanna buff it towards the inner corner of the eye
04:14 to really give you that elongated, elevated cat eye effect.
04:18 Then again, do your liner just like you usually would,
04:20 right along that lash line
04:22 and then just make sure you take it
04:23 all the way to the outer corner
04:24 so that it does connect with that wing.
04:26 Again, I'm gonna do the inner corner
04:28 the same way I did the other eye.
04:30 This might be easier for some of you,
04:31 just using a precise eyeliner brush
04:33 that's not an angled brush.
04:34 I definitely think an angled brush
04:35 can be a little bit harder,
04:36 but it's just what I'm used to.
04:38 I'm gonna go in with Velour Lashes
04:40 in the style Lash in the City,
04:42 but I always coat my lashes with a thin coat of mascara
04:44 first before going in
04:46 'cause I think it makes it blend a little bit better
04:47 and also I never, ever go in with mascara
04:50 after my false lashes are on
04:51 because it can cut down the longevity
04:53 and the life of your lashes
04:55 and make them look a little bit more fake.
04:57 And I want my false lashes to look as pretty and fluffy
05:00 as they possibly can,
05:01 so I don't go in with mascara afterwards.
05:03 I always do it first.
05:04 Then I'm gonna move on to foundation.
05:05 I am using Hourglass Veil Foundation.
05:08 It's a very pretty illuminating foundation.
05:10 I will say though that it has the highest PF in it,
05:12 so it does smell like SPF.
05:13 Just a warning.
05:15 I'm going to be going in with a Morphe brush.
05:17 This is the M439, I believe, for foundation.
05:20 Absolutely obsessed.
05:21 I've used it only twice
05:22 and I'm already claiming that I'm obsessed.
05:24 You know it's love when I've only used it twice
05:26 and I'm using the word obsessed.
05:28 Moving on.
05:28 I'm doing my eyebrows
05:29 and I just showed you the first one super quickly
05:31 because it was really out of focus the entire time.
05:33 I'm gonna show you this one a little bit more slowly.
05:36 I am using the Anastasia Brow Wiz in the shade,
05:39 oh no, I forgot the shade,
05:41 soft brown, taupe, I don't know.
05:43 I'll link it down below for you guys.
05:45 But I am just gonna go ahead
05:46 and fill in my brows like normal.
05:47 If you guys want an updated brow routine,
05:49 just let me know in the comment section down below.
05:52 I'm gonna conceal my under eye area
05:54 and I am using NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to do this.
05:57 I know a lot of you have been saying recently
05:59 that I have exchanged this one for the MAC Pro Longwear
06:02 and it's true, you guys.
06:03 I've just been using this recently.
06:04 I go through phases and this is just,
06:06 it's my boy right now, so it's what we're doing.
06:09 I've been enjoying it.
06:10 And if you guys are wondering,
06:11 I do my concealer and my foundation after my eyes
06:14 when I'm doing a smoky or a cat eye look
06:17 because sometimes you can mess up your foundation
06:19 if you do your eyes second.
06:21 So doing your eyes first will ensure
06:23 that you have the perfect foundation application and eyes.
06:26 As always, I'm going to set my under eye area.
06:29 I am using MAC Pro Longwear Emphasize Powder
06:33 mixed with Anastasia Beverly Hills Banana Powder.
06:36 This is from her contour kit.
06:38 And then I'll also just put a little bit of that
06:39 on my chin and my forehead just to even that out
06:41 'cause sometimes a highlight underneath the eyes by itself
06:44 can be a little overwhelming
06:45 when you don't balance it around the face.
06:47 Then I'm gonna go in with that same smoke color
06:49 from Anastasia.
06:50 If you guys can't tell,
06:51 this is like the easiest thing ever, right?
06:53 It's only two eyeshadows that is creating this look.
06:55 Like, yes, please.
06:57 Then I'm gonna go back in with that original shade
06:59 that we went in Birkin and I'm going to just buff that out
07:02 with a pencil brush on this entire lower lash line.
07:04 If you guys don't want this to be super smoky,
07:07 you can leave this part out and just do mascara
07:09 and call it a day.
07:10 I wanted to blow it out.
07:11 I wanted to show you guys the full production,
07:13 the full effect and all the drama and potential
07:15 that this look really has.
07:16 So I'm gonna coat my lower lashes
07:17 with Rimmel Lash Accelerator.
07:19 This is from the drugstore
07:20 and it's one of my favorite lower lash mascaras
07:23 'cause it really separates your lashes
07:24 and I don't like clumpy bottom lashes.
07:27 I'm gonna go in with MAC Cosmetics Mylar.
07:29 I wanted to keep this look very matte.
07:31 I didn't want a lot of shimmer in it
07:33 'cause I just absolutely love a smoky matte eye.
07:35 Like, who doesn't?
07:36 It's classic and it's timeless.
07:37 And Mylar is a beautiful highlight
07:39 that isn't a full matte but it's not a shimmer.
07:41 It has like this beautiful gleam to it.
07:43 Then I'm gonna go in
07:44 and just do a little bronzing and contouring.
07:47 I am using a NARS bronzer in the shade Algorithm.
07:50 This is part of their holiday collection
07:52 and I am using a Morphe brush.
07:54 This is the MB5, MB5.
07:59 And I'm going to bronze my face.
08:01 I'm just going around my cheekbones,
08:02 around the temples and the forehead.
08:04 I absolutely love this brush.
08:05 I have been singing its praises for the past
08:07 like three tutorials straight.
08:09 But seriously, bomb.com.
08:11 I'm gonna go back in with a Makeup Geek Precision brush
08:13 and just create a little line right there
08:15 underneath the cheekbones
08:17 just to accentuate this contour a little bit more
08:19 'cause I really like a structured contour with a cat eye.
08:22 I think it's very flattering.
08:24 I'm gonna go in with MAC Mineralize Blush
08:26 in the shade Dainty,
08:27 which is just a really pale, flattering, girly pink.
08:30 So pretty.
08:31 And I'm just going to lightly dust that on the cheeks.
08:33 Nothing too intense,
08:34 but we just wanna have a little bit of a flush.
08:36 This looks painful, honestly.
08:38 This shot makes me cringe.
08:39 Anyways, I am going to be applying an eye kohl
08:42 on that lower waterline.
08:43 And the struggle is real, as always, as you can see.
08:46 And then I'm going to finish this off with my new lipstick.
08:50 This is called Buttercup.
08:52 And you guys are the first to see and the first to know.
08:55 I am so excited to be using this and introducing it to you.
08:58 It's gonna be coming out in a week and a half.
09:00 I will let you know when it's formally coming out.
09:02 I feel like this whole video is me just telling you,
09:04 like, ooh, this is coming out soon.
09:05 This is coming out soon.
09:06 But I wanted to use some new products.
09:07 So I absolutely love this color, you guys.
09:10 It is just a gorgeous, nudey pink.
09:12 I am so proud, so happy.
09:13 So I hope you guys are as excited as I am.
09:15 I'm finishing that off with a little Shimmer of Hope Gloss.
09:18 This is also by Drog Cosmetics.
09:20 I will link it down below,
09:21 along with a 25% off coupon code for you guys,
