FIRST IMPRESSION + Demo Makeup Forever ULTRA HD Foundation

00:20 So today's video is going to be a first impressions video on the new Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation.
00:27 For those of you who watch my tutorials religiously, you guys know that I am in love with the Makeup
00:33 Forever HD foundation.
00:35 So whenever I found out that they were coming out with the Ultra foundation, I was like
00:39 "Okay, that word 'Ultra' means something.
00:42 It has to be something more to it than just the regular HD foundation."
00:47 So I had the opportunity to go to the Makeup Forever Ultra HD launch party and the workers
00:51 there were basically telling me that they actually came out with this foundation for
00:56 the film industry.
00:58 That way the makeup still looks very neat, very flawless at any resolution.
01:03 It still feels very flawless, very skin-like, very natural, but it's more so geared for
01:09 the high resolution filming.
01:11 And that's very understandable because I know sometimes some foundations you can actually
01:16 see it just kind of sitting on the skin.
01:19 And whenever you're dealing with high resolution cameras, even some of the YouTube cameras,
01:24 you can see the foundation just sitting on the skin if you do have a close-up of applying
01:30 the actual makeup itself.
01:31 Two big changes that was implemented into the Ultra HD foundation is one, there are
01:36 15 more shades.
01:37 So now all together there are 40 shades total in this line as opposed to the HD line where
01:43 there was only 26 colors.
01:44 So now every skin tone can possibly wear the foundation without having to mix colors together.
01:52 And the second big thing that changed was that now there's the yellow and then the red
01:57 range.
01:58 So like this one here is Y445 and this one is suited for yellow undertones.
02:05 And then there's the red series which is R and that is geared towards the red and the
02:10 pink undertones.
02:11 And then the shades actually change.
02:14 So in the HD foundation I am number 173, but in the Ultra HD foundation I am Y445.
02:22 The helpful thing about it is that it is labeled at the bottom and as you can see it tells
02:27 you 173 is equivalent to the Y445.
02:30 So the consistency of the foundation didn't really change, but they did add more like
02:35 amino acids, more pigments, more ingredients to hydrate the skin, to plump the skin.
02:40 So the fact that it's supposed to have more pigmentation definitely piqued my interest
02:43 a little bit more.
02:45 And the fact that it is geared to like blur out any flaws, to hydrate the skin, just to
02:52 make your skin look more revitalized, more natural all while wearing it.
02:56 It's basically to make your makeup look invisible to the eye and to the cameras.
03:01 So just talking about packaging, the packaging still looks the same except that there's a
03:06 silver metal ring around.
03:09 So as you can see the top here is more plastic and then this one has a plastic top with a
03:13 metal ring around it.
03:15 So it does come with a pump which is great for sanitary reasons.
03:19 And you guys know I always apply my foundation with my fingers and then I go in with the
03:25 beauty blender.
03:26 So I already washed, moisturized, and primed my skin.
03:29 So now I'm just going to take a little bit on the back of my hand.
03:33 I always do that.
03:36 Wipe it off.
03:38 So just by rubbing it, it definitely feels more velvety.
03:43 And even applying it to the skin feels so much better.
03:51 It honestly feels more like satin.
03:55 The consistency didn't change though.
03:57 It's still semi thick but semi thin at the same time.

04:04 This looks so good.
04:09 Seems like medium to full coverage.
04:15 I just love applying it with my fingers.
04:16 I feel like I get a better coverage.
04:21 The thing that I like about this foundation is that it's oil free.
04:26 So if you have oily skin, you can wear this without looking like a grease ball.
04:32 The fact that this foundation feels more velvety, more satin like, I would definitely say would
04:38 be great for dry skin because so far it doesn't feel like it's drying like a powder.
04:44 It still feels very satiny even after it's starting to dry.
04:48 Okay so now I'm going to go in with my beauty blender and just spritz it with my Evian facial
04:53 spray just to dampen it.
05:04 Now I definitely see that this one is a little bit more pigmented because it's covering up
05:11 my hyperpigmentation around my mouth with the second layer.
05:15 So it's showing me that it's more pigmented and it's very buildable.
05:25 I can already see the difference with this foundation, with the new Ultra.
05:31 Yes, look at this!
05:36 I'm loving this!
05:37 I haven't even color corrected yet and normally I have to color correct.
05:46 You know what, I'm anxious to see what it's going to look like underneath my eyes because
05:49 my eyes are pretty dark.
05:51 So I'm going to just apply a light layer underneath my eyes before I highlight.
06:00 Because this will tell me if this could be just an everyday...

06:31 I am loving just the finish that I am getting from the Ultra HD foundation right now.
06:37 I'm like 2 buck because I feel like I really don't have much left to do to my face but
06:43 I still want to highlight with my lighter concealer and then go in.
06:47 Like honestly, the way that it's drying is spectacular.

07:07 And like I get dry like above my lip and it's not clinging.
07:14 It's not clinging to the dry patches at all.
07:16 But this is ridiculous.
07:18 I'm looking through my magnifying mirror.

07:22 And I wish you guys could see what I'm seeing.

07:49 Okay so I am back from doing my hair and getting the rest of my makeup together and it is exactly
07:56 one hour.
07:57 It is 5 o'clock and so far I'm actually loving the foundation.
08:02 It still feels like the original consistency and formulation from the regular HD foundation
08:07 but I can totally see that it has a lot more pigmentation and it definitely makes my face
08:12 feel a little bit more hydrated.
08:14 And I'm also noticing more of a satiny, more velvety type of texture as opposed to the
08:19 original HD foundation.
08:21 So so far I am loving it.
08:23 Like I said it matches me perfectly.
08:25 I feel like I didn't have to go in with any additional bronzers or anything like that.
08:30 I actually did on purpose not to set my foundation nor apply any type of powder nor apply any
08:37 type of contour powder.
08:39 So what you see here is just literally the Lorac Tantalizer and some shimmer highlight
08:44 from the Makeup Forever Pro Sculpt Duo here and then the rest is just the foundation by
08:50 itself.
08:51 I didn't even set it.
08:52 But yeah so far so good.
08:53 So I've been wearing it an hour.
08:54 I'm getting ready to run a few errands, go to the store and then I will check back in
08:59 with you guys like in a few hours just to show you guys how the foundation is holding

09:25 So I am back after basically an 8 hour day.
09:28 It is now 10.55 and as you guys can see my makeup it still looks really good to say one
09:37 I did not touch up at all.
09:39 Like anytime I review a foundation I really and truly strive for like not blotting with
09:44 my the back of my hand or with the you know napkin or anything like that.
09:48 So I did not blot and I did not set my face with a powder.
09:53 So any oily areas that are kind of peeking through is basically just my natural oils
09:59 and I like the fact that I don't look like a complete grease ball.
10:04 Like it's very easy just to touch it up by doing this and the oiliness goes away.
10:11 But for the most part the foundation looks really good.
10:15 It did not oxidize which I absolutely love.
10:18 And also with my fine lines it didn't really settle into the fine lines like the original
10:23 formulation does.
10:25 Like normally I have to like pat it with my finger and blend it in.
10:29 But my fine lines here are not that bad.
10:33 So I will say just from the first impressions I like the Ultra HD better than the original
10:37 HD.
10:38 If you guys have tried the original HD foundation you have to try the Ultra HD because it just
10:44 it looks so much better in my opinion.
10:47 Like I can definitely see the difference between the original HD foundation and the Ultra HD
10:53 foundation.
10:54 Especially whenever I get really close up on my skin.
10:57 Like it just looks like skin.
10:59 I'm not even joking.
11:00 It doesn't look like you know makeup.
11:04 And honestly that's what the functionality of makeup should be.
11:07 It should definitely discreetly blur out your imperfection, blur out any blemishes, definitely
11:13 hydrate your skin and just feel more skin like as opposed to making you feel like you're
11:18 wearing a mask.
11:19 So thumbs up for the Ultra HD foundation.
11:22 If you haven't tried the original HD foundation don't even fret.
11:26 Don't even worry about it.
11:27 I would go ahead and skip that and go straight to the Ultra HD foundation.
11:31 Especially if you like taking photos, close up photos like for Instagram or just for your
11:36 blogs or even if you're filming makeup tutorials on YouTube.
11:39 I definitely recommend getting the Ultra HD foundation because it's amazing.
11:44 So yeah so that is basically it for my first impressions on the Makeup Forever Ultra HD
