Junk and Used Waste Materials to Beautify the Guwahati City
Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is using junk and used waste materials to decorate the city by installing artworks in several flyover bridges made from waste materials. Abhijit Das, an artist involved in the beautification work, said that they have used materials such as chip packets, pens, toothbrushes, electronic waste items, phones, bottle caps, and beer cans to create art. The GMDA has collaborated with an NGO to collect the waste materials. Local residents have praised the initiative for the embellishment of Guwahati.
