Today, during technician training, we set up the Cameleon Fixtures to check a Tesla Model Y with damage to the right rear bumper mounting point. The rail end has a piece broken off at one corner, requiring a section of the frame rail to be replaced. This car is built with what is called a structural pack, meaning that the entire rear substructure under the body shell is one piece. Fortunately, Tesla has a sectioning procedure that allows for a section to be cut, a new part to be fit, and then riveted and bonded in place of the damaged section. This is why we use the Cameleon to accurately place the part.
