00:00 Okay lads when I say stop you stop boxing when I say break take step back keep your
00:08 hands up protect yourself all the time good luck to you both good luck.
00:11 So final words from the trainers Kevin Thornley for Cuthbert, Karl Grees for Stanley Stan and
00:24 this stadium is I'd say at least three quarters full already this early in the evening it's
00:31 fantastic to see. So this scheduled for 10 in the super well to end division and the
00:37 eliminator for the English title currently held by Sam Gilley Lee Cutler in the white
00:43 and black in the orthodox stand Stanley Stanard lining up as a southpaw in the black. Stanard
00:52 trying to take the center of the ring early on Cutler with that wide stance just working
00:59 around the outside.
00:59 What I've seen of Stanard from what I've watched in the fights he's had he's like to just kind of
01:15 slide into range get into mid-range and then let his hands go from there but I think we might see
01:22 him do things differently tonight because those were fights he was expected to win he had to go
01:26 looking for openings I won't be surprised if we see him look to work off the jab a bit more loses
01:33 balance out that's a couple of times he's done that now as he's looked to let that lead hand go
01:38 he doesn't want to be falling in against Cutler that's exactly the kind of thing that Cutler will
01:43 want him to do.
01:47 Yeah Cutler you know short and stocky but he's actually more of a boxer on the outside than
01:52 you know his physique you'd think he was more wants to get on the inside and go to the body
01:57 but he's best works really on the outside.
02:00 He's doing really well his feet are like energetic you know he's waiting for the counter punch and
02:07 to be on the counter so he's trying to box and make him throw something make Stanard throw something
02:12 so he can counter.
02:13 He's won an area title Cutler against Scott James.
02:21 I mentioned that fight against Brad Ray that was during Covid times they were both on a couple of
02:33 cards on standby as a reserve bout weren't needed then eventually got their shot on the undercard
02:39 of a co-league boxer Stanard though just countering with a lead right hand there clips Cutler high on
02:45 the head rather just a slight balance issue.
02:49 Landed a decent body shot just before that as well.
02:54 See you can see Cutler just inching in slightly ever so slightly with his feet and when he attacks
03:01 he just either steps back or he leans back which makes him miss if he could just put the counter on
03:05 him like he was before.
03:06 Just short of the jab there Stanard and Cutler couldn't quite bounce off that back for the fighter
03:17 he idolizes is Canelo.
03:19 That's a style that he looks to try and mimic he was almost brought in for sparring for John Ryder
03:26 actually in the build-up to his fight with Canelo.
03:29 Tony Sims feeling that he could get some decent work out of Cutler he went down to the matriam
03:34 gym but it didn't quite happen.
03:37 Let's go backstage Caris Artingstall is with Kyle.
03:42 Caris I mean already in your short pro career you've fought at some incredible places and on
03:48 some incredible cards the Vitality Stadium this is a breeze for you.
03:51 It's a nice one this isn't it I can't wait to get in there and put on a show where I've had a look on
03:55 like the I've not been down yet but I've had a look on the stuff I've been tagging on social media
03:59 the setup out there it looks incredible so yeah another one to add to the bucket list and
04:04 don't know what they're going to do for the next one it's going to be hard to top this one off
04:06 isn't it but looking forward to it.
04:08 Definitely now I mean it's a huge stadium the sun's shining that's got you in a good mood.
04:13 What more can you ask for just a win now and then that'll tick my night off
04:17 that'll be a night complete for me.
04:19 There you go good luck.
04:20 Thank you very much thank you.
04:21 He looks a bit nervous there Karl Walker didn't he I think it's fair to say.
04:27 Yeah I think she's an edgy character isn't she Caris?
04:31 I think she's great.
04:33 Very entertaining exchange between her and Andy Scott during the week that's what you get.
04:38 I'm looking forward to watching her later on first eight rounder for her
04:43 so into the second round here not much in that opener.
04:46 I think you wouldn't normally get that when you get a Southport versus Overdock you've got to
04:52 you know feel your way into it get your range and it takes a round or two to do that.
04:57 So
04:58 stepping into that jab there Stanley then looking to commit to that left hand.
05:14 He's got decent feet what he does have the ability to do is work in quite a tight circle
05:21 we've not seen him do it too much yet but he can pivot around that front foot slip off to the side.
05:26 He's looking to try and set things up off the jab more tonight than we've seen him do previously.
05:31 Oh good shot good shot there from Cutler maybe just reach for that left a bit.
05:38 Yeah kind of reached over his front foot a little bit you know broke the distance mate you know
05:44 stepped in with it but Cutler timed him perfectly just walked him onto it lovely shot.
05:49 You can see him every every few seconds he just inches his foot just slightly ever so
05:55 into into range and he leans his body out so when Cutler's overreaching we've seen the
06:00 perfect response that was good by hand from Cutler.
06:01 Long left there from Stano the corner enjoyed that one.
06:07 Just looking at those front feet there the battle of the front feet when you've got
06:13 Orthodox against Southport you're looking to get your foot on the outside of your opponents
06:17 that's the real estate really that they're competing for Cutler just shooting that jab
06:23 up from the waist.
06:26 I think Cutler's doing a really good job of backing Stanard, sorry Stanard's doing a really
06:34 good job of backing Cutler up he doesn't necessarily throw but at all and but he gets
06:39 him back on the route because he just he puts his foot in in in and then jumps back out.
06:50 Cutler just stepped off to his left.
07:01 So
07:10 final few seconds it's a good contest this they look well matched these two we thought
07:29 they may be that just falling over a little bit there.
07:35 Let's go down ringside now this Scott is with Richard Rathbore.
07:39 Yeah Richard's just will make his way to ringside now you're gonna be an interesting
07:43 spectator tonight and presumably there's a little bit of getting the experience of being
07:48 in amongst a big crowd like this you could fight the winner in theory.
07:51 Yeah absolutely so I've got my I'm soaking up the atmosphere and I'm looking forward
07:56 to the night I'm looking forward to the event especially I don't know who's going to win
08:00 and I can't split it so it's so difficult because you have CBS he's got the home favor
08:05 he's got his home crown he always talks about having his whole crowd behind him so I don't
08:10 know McCordy's put a lot of pressure on himself but at the same time he just shows what type
08:14 of fighter he is.
08:15 And how have you been received down here you obviously beat Chris Williams Smith famously
08:19 although everybody's asking you for a photo so you're not you're not that well just like.
08:22 This is this is my town I took I took over Bournemouth when I beat CBS this is my town now.
08:27 Thank god we're not on the PA enjoy your night.
08:30 That was a really good fight that night we commentated on that one and and Billingsmith
08:36 showed us a lot that night and he would learn more from that fight than all of the previous
08:41 fights he'd had because he was he was knocked into the ropes and the referee called it a
08:45 knockdown and it looked like he might get stopped actually but he rallied he got back
08:49 into the fight and I think he really proved a lot to himself and to other people a great
08:54 example of a defeat being a lot more valuable often than any number of victories.
09:01 Yeah well I mean there wasn't that a lot in that fight actually in the end and uh you
09:06 see what React4 has gone on to achieve since then and also Chris Williams Smith himself
09:10 they've both really enhanced and progressed really well since that fight they both learned
09:16 a lot from it um and you almost think that there's a they're destined to meet again somewhere
09:22 down the line.
09:22 Cutler just shooting that right hand but Stannard slipped off to his right hand side
09:29 and slid over his shoulder.
09:31 Good shot trying him again walked him onto that right hand he's got to be
09:39 he's got to watch out for that Stannard that's the shot that Cutler's trying to
09:43 bring him onto he came in with a double jab but there wasn't a great deal of conviction about it
09:49 and as you say he just timed it with that right hand there Cutler who just takes the
09:54 weight back onto his heels and Stannard went searching for a long left himself.
09:58 I think when you when you're so far apart good up above there from Cutler when you're so far
10:04 apart with a self-balling knockdown that slight hesitation and you can see it a mile off.
10:09 Good jab from Cutler just planting it up
10:19 throws it from the waist it just bursts up into the eye line
10:26 makes it a little bit more difficult to pick up Stannard has got a very technically correct look to
10:34 him.
10:45 Up he goes.
10:47 Stop stop stop stop.
10:51 Through the right hand there Stannard but then just collected a left front
11:10 Cutler as he was on his way back out neither one of them landed particularly clean.
11:14 They were both pretty close.
11:42 With that one two mate you're getting there you're getting there
11:46 but get them feeling that a little bit more all right yeah just gotta get them feeling that a
11:51 little bit more all right how you feeling you're good listen why are you why you keep touching
11:57 him with that jab you're offsetting him yeah you're not letting him set which is good i want a
12:01 little bit more off it all right you're touching him with it let's start landing it a bit more now
12:06 i mean so mate yeah come on listen let's start touching my jab and start landing you're offsetting
12:11 him stopping him from blowing gold.
12:20 Opening three rounds the eye catching shots though have come from Cutler
12:37 interesting listening to the corner there the Stannard corner.
12:40 The Calgary's basically telling his man listen you do some decent work here you're working off
12:45 that jab you're touching him with the jab you're offsetting him but i just want a bit more off the
12:50 back of it i think he just wants him to just commit a bit more basically get those feet closer
12:54 take a bit more of a risk yeah like i said he does good work getting Cutler backed up and then
12:59 getting him to the places that he wants and then Cutler will just quickly move his feet or spin him
13:04 and then he's back in the middle so he wants to put the pressure on a little bit but conservative
13:09 pressure than small pressure because you can't just fly there's a cut somewhere the eye of Cutler.
13:14 There is a cut to the corner of the left eye there it doesn't look too bad from where we're sitting
13:22 it's running clear of the eye the blood anyway which is a good sign so i don't think that's going
13:27 to be too much of an issue i don't know if that was a punch or a clash of heads we're into round four
13:32 so at the end of this round we will have a legitimate contest and i don't see the fight
13:37 being stopped due to that cut before the completion of this round. It definitely gives shorting steps for Stannard to aim up.
13:44 Stannard just backed up and then stepped off to his right hand side he may cut the pull short with a
13:55 a long right hand i think what Karl Grooms is maybe a bit concerned about here is that this
14:01 is a big step up for Stannard and he doesn't want to see the fight just slip away from him
14:07 because he doesn't really engage or do the things that you've been talking about Tasha
14:12 soon enough because we're not privy to the referee scorecard here but he does need to just up it a
14:21 little bit you feel or he could get to a stage where halfway they've all been competitive rounds
14:25 but he could have lost them all. Exactly yeah i think the last like i said the last well the
14:30 first three rounds were really close i probably would have given him a share of the first round
14:34 but i've got the last two to cut less simply because i remember the big shots that he landed
14:39 and that's probably the same as the judges want. That's exactly the same card i've got and for
14:43 exactly the same reason those right hands that he keeps timing him walking him onto they're the shots
14:48 at the end of the round in a close round that you remember. Looking for that left hand in behind
14:53 the jab that time and again just trying to take the feet in Cutler always on the borderline
14:58 just hanging back right hand is always cocked and ready to go through it there he's found the
15:07 range for that shot he's timing it well and he's patient he's waiting for it he's allowing
15:12 Stanard to be the one to break the distance and he just
15:16 times him lovely walks him onto it you know it's such an eye-catching shot
15:21 in a close round he only has to land a couple of those and they're going to be the shots of
15:25 the round that you remember. I've been told that the head clash caused that little nick on the
15:32 corner of the left eye the bleeding's almost stopped by itself so thankfully that's not going
15:35 to be any kind of an issue. Okay here's Chris Willemsmith on his way into the vitality.
15:42 It's such a huge night for him he's handled it very very well this week and watch the rehearsals
15:54 for the ring walks earlier and Willemsmith's ring walk it's going to be absolutely epic
15:59 it's something to remember it's something to savor but we've been saying this all week man and
16:06 he's talked about pressure being a privilege and I like that attitude but quite simply brutal though
16:11 it may sound for Willemsmith this could either be the greatest night of his boxing life or the worst
16:17 and as for Coley he chose this 63 days ago he boxed in Manchester he got criticism like he
16:24 always does and he decided to walk straight into Willemsmith's backyard. Yeah and again someone
16:29 who he's sparred many many rounds with so he's you know take from that what you will but for me
16:34 that says you know he had the upper hand of those spars and he's very confident again the win even
16:38 here in Bournemouth. He's just got so many ingredients. So into the fifth here they scheduled
16:48 for 10. Stannard's never been beyond six scheduled for eight once.
16:52 Cutler also never been beyond six he was scheduled for 10 once in that area
17:02 title fight but only needed a couple of rounds so there's no real advantage to either one of them in
17:07 terms of miles in the back if you like both just landing on the inside there maybe the heads came
17:13 together he seemed to gesture towards the referee there Stannard. Does he need two phases of attack
17:23 here Tash because Stannard will throw that jab throw that left hand but in the middle of the ring
17:27 and Cutler just pulls those feet back and it doesn't reach. It's a little bit different because
17:35 normally it's the southpaw that's used to the orthodox and and it seems that Stannard is the
17:40 one that's come a bit square his shoulders a bit more rounded and and Cutler's just waiting
17:45 he's not even throwing the jab anymore he's just waiting to time that backhand because
17:49 he's just leaning back and and catching him over the top but yeah he just needs to get in quicker
17:55 and commit and not not just make it a one phase attack you can see he's not throwing the jab he's
18:00 just waiting for it to over commit and he doesn't move his foot in behind it and he's just countering
18:06 over the top. It's the better feat I think for Cutler you know he's got his light around his
18:09 feet he's got quicker feet lots of movement changing angles so it's I just feel that Stannard
18:16 can't quite just can't quite get the time of him can't quite get the range of him he's just
18:22 struggling to really pin him down he's he's trying to press in behind the the double jab
18:26 at the backhand but the accuracy is really there there's a lovely one two down the middle you know
18:30 right on his feet doesn't unload up in the power just bang just pings them quick straight down the
18:35 middle good accuracy. Good work from Cutler who's really warming to his test kit and again the right
18:41 hand just catches Stannard as he was opening out to throw his leg there's some damage around the
18:46 left eye there of Stannard too a little bit of a cut I think just below the eye it looks like it's
18:52 in quite an awkward position maybe it's marked up a bit that eye too. Yeah a real confident look now
18:58 to Cutler, couldn't have found there though for Stannard, best shot probably of the round certainly
19:02 of the round maybe he's the right for him. He's getting very close to the halfway stage of
19:10 Stannard I think just stopped maybe by those couple of right hands he's just committing a bit more
19:14 himself now. He was a pointy over in the corner before when he just dropped his shoulders and you
19:21 can see that he was frustrated and when he's come back he's had to gee himself up and I think that's
19:25 why we've got a little bit more offensive from him. Cutler just dips his knees and throws the right hand into the body.
19:34 [BELL RINGING]
19:40 Good round for Cutler.
19:43 [APPLAUSE]
19:45 [MUSIC]
19:47 He won't do will he? Alright? He should. Where's he gone? He's coming in for a hard run. He's in. He's been very hard punched that last round.
20:01 [MUSIC]
20:03 [APPLAUSE]
20:25 Fighting in the fading light. There is nothing like it. We've been so lucky with the amount of stadium fights we've had over the last few years and it's always an absolute joy.
20:37 This place is pretty much already full. It will be bursting later on. Carl Greaves is taking every moment he can and there was Stannard. I don't think that cuts in a great spot. I wondered whether it was just below the eye. I think it might actually be on the eye lid. It's definitely underneath the eyebrow.
20:53 I think that's what Stannard said to him in between rounds. That blood is going into his eye I think and he's having to blink it away and that is not ideal as we head into the second half. He's up against it here Stannard. Cutler in a healthy lead you would imagine.
21:10 And there's the viewers verdict. 5-0 to Cutler. It's been competitive all the way through but as we've been saying the better shots, the more eye catching punches have come from Cutler and then he turned the screw a little bit in that fifth round.
21:25 Like I said I think it was a moment where he was so frustrated that he just went with his feelings and he got it. We need to see a little bit more of that.
21:45 Blood continues to come. Not with any great flow from that nick on the corner of the left eye of Cutler which was from a clash of heads. Left hand there from Stannard. Cutler can't get too greedy here and go looking for that right hand too much. Stannard is capable of landing that left.
22:06 Cutler just stepping in. Right hand lead really.
22:34 Found the target. Just over a minute remaining in the round and not an awful lot has landed in this round. If Stannard could finish this one strong then he could take it. You could argue that he's maybe made the running more in this round than Cutler has who possibly is taking a little bit of a round off here in terms of his punch output.
22:59 Look.
23:13 Just look at the body language between them both. You can see that Stannard is just a little bit tight, a little bit hesitant. Cutler I feel like he's really starting to enjoy himself.
23:23 Yeah looks comfortable in there. Cutler where Stannard just looks like it's hard work for him. He's struggling to really pin Cutler down. Cutler's dictating the terms, controlling the pace. When he wants to go for a walk he goes for a walk. When he wants to engage he engages.
23:42 So let's go down ringside. Andy Scott is with some Bournemouth royalty. Harry Redknapp. Yes indeed. I'm desperate not to take too much of his time but Harry I mean it must be a little bit surreal. You managed here, you know the club very very well and I think you've had the promo out on your boat this week. It's been quite a week.
23:59 Yeah I've had a great build up to the fight. I mean to see 15,000 people at the stadium. It's amazing. It really is a big night in Bournemouth and to have the Sky cameras here for a well titled fight. It's just, we love it. Brilliant night.
24:13 Yeah it's great for the club to welcome us as well. I mean 15,000 I think they had to add a few more extra seats. The town are really behind him.
24:19 Everybody I mean as you say look how we've sold it out. Tickets have all gone. 15,000 people here tonight. The atmosphere will be amazing and there will be cheering for the hometown boy but it's going to be a tough fight. Two good fighters. Tough one to call.
24:35 I'm sure you don't want to talk football tonight but Bournemouth securing Premier League status is massive for the area.
24:40 Yeah I mean they've got a big game tomorrow. They go to Everton tomorrow. Everton need to beat them to really. That's going to be a hard game for Everton tomorrow. Bournemouth are a good side as they proved this year. So they can play a big part in the relegation battle tomorrow by getting a positive result for Everton. It's not impossible.
24:57 Harry I'll leave you in peace. Thanks very much.
24:59 Have a good night. You too.
25:00 Well boxing would have been all around Harry Redknapp when he was a youngster. He's from Poplar in East London. Huge boxing history around that part of the capital.
25:17 He's also into the seventh year. I think Stano's really got to try and make something happen here to change the direction in which this fight's going. Cutler very much in the driver's seat and I'd imagine way ahead on the cards.
25:35 Just always able to pull onto that back foot, pull that head back, keep himself out of range Cutler. Then every now and again can just bounce off that back foot.
25:46 He's small with the counter himself. It's been a well organised good performance from him so far. His nickname is Chaos but there's been nothing chaotic about this. He got that moniker when he was back in the amateurs.
26:04 Side onto him there. That was a great example of the feet. You saw the jab come out there from Stan Arden. Those feet staying the same distance apart. He's just sliding back. No big step, no bounce, just a nice slide.
26:17 Keep the knife to the side, keep off the line.
26:32 Good job.
26:55 Looking to lead off with a left hook there Cutler. Good work from Stano, just dipped underneath it and slipped off to his left.
27:08 It's one of these fights, Matt Cutler, too, where he's on that borderline of range. As I mentioned he's good with the reflexes. He's good at pulling his weight onto that back foot with his wide split stance. And every now and again he'll lean in like he did there. He looks like he's in range but he's not quite. He's able to kind of dominate proceedings at times without really doing all that much because something looks like it's about to happen.
27:32 Well he looks busy. He's always moving whether he's feinting his shoulders, feinting with his feet. He's in and out, he's changing the angle. So he's constantly making his opponent think. But he's in control of the pace and always in control of the range as well.
27:48 Well let's go backstage to Kyle. There is a savage on the loose.
27:54 Sam, how much can you use your experience in this fight tonight?
27:59 I think it's more the run up to it. I'm relaxed, I'm calm. I've been here before I've done it. So I can just stay calm and like I say it's another day's work.
28:12 So interesting because you've had a long career but we're at the Vitality Stadium. We're in Bournemouth. It's a huge night. The fans are here, the sun's shining. Surely you still get excited for nights like this?
28:22 Yeah I'm excited. It's very rare you get to box outside. It's very rare you get to box in a stadium. So like I say I'm excited but I know how to stay calm and get the job done.
28:35 Well good luck tonight.
28:36 Appreciate it. Thanks a lot.
28:38 He's so old school Sam Egginton. You put up enough money and he'll fight. He'll go anywhere to do it. He went to Australia last year. He's the very definition of a prize fighter.
28:49 And all week people have been asking him what can we expect from Sam Egginton. He just looks slightly confused because...
28:56 You know what you're getting with Sam Egginton. The same fighters I think Ted Chisholm, Troy Williamson and Sam Egginton. You just know what you're going to get. It's going to be an all out war. It's going to be tough. It's going to be hard. It's going to be rough.
29:16 Swinson the 8th here. Cutler in the whites with a comfortable lead by our reckoning. Stan Ard has tried to keep the shape together. He's stuck to his task but he just hasn't been able to land with any regularity on Cutler.
29:32 There's not been an awful lot to encourage him. He's reaching for that left hand. Doubles up on it. Got through with the second one. It was a little bit unorthodox there. But he managed to back him up to the ropes.
29:45 And that's something that it's been very hard for him to do in this fight so far. Matt we talked earlier on about two phases of attack. With too much open ring in the one phase Cutler can just pull those things out of range. If he can double up on it and push him into the ropes then all of a sudden he doesn't really have anywhere to go. But you have to give Cutler credit for just not really ever allowing that to happen.
30:06 I think we're at a stage in the fight now where I'm guessing he's so far behind on the cards. And what he's doing isn't working. So he's got to make some changes and possibly take some risks because what he's doing isn't working and he's way behind on the cards now. So yeah he needs to really come up with something.
30:27 There's a clash of heads there on the inside. There's a cut on the left eyebrow towards the nose. Towards the bridge of the nose there from Stannard. And there's a thickening around the bridge of the nose there from the Newark fighter as well. And another nick on the corner of the right eye this time of Lee Cutler. So they both picked up a touch of damage there. Not a bit, I'm glad to say, looks all that serious.
30:53 You know, rather than trying to come in behind the jab, maybe he's just got to tuck up now and walk to him.
31:01 As Stannard's getting desperate, he's starting so far out that they are having to lunge in and of course that will be a clash of heads there.
31:12 Maybe he's got to tuck up, like I say, walk to him, try and catch a counter. You know, trying to jab his way in, feint his way in. Not really working so...
31:21 Got to make some changes here now, Stannard.
31:27 Well he needs a stoppage in the last couple of rounds after this one. 30 seconds remaining in these knockdowns, certainly.
31:37 Good left hand on the inside there from Cutler. He just prowled into range, dropped his height a little bit. He was actually quite square himself but then got that left hand off.
31:46 Right, you want in? Right, you want in?
31:50 Stop it! Stop it!
31:53 No, no, you stop. Right, you want in?
31:56 Oh, good job, and again!
32:01 Well done, Joe!
32:03 Well we've heard from Sam Hennington, Kyle is now with Joe Pickford.
32:13 Joe, last time you were here in Bournemouth, unbelievable performance from yourself. This place is going to be rocking tonight. Can we expect more of the same?
32:21 Loud already, yeah. Same business as usual. Obviously, I'm looking forward to it. Now I'm here, got the last few days out of the way, I can get a bit excited now and get ready to go.
32:33 Your record speaks for itself. Can the people of Bournemouth, can the fans that are here expect more of the same? Can we see that punching power tonight?
32:40 Yeah, yeah, of course. I'm not leaving it anywhere but look, I think it's a perfect fight for me and literally I'm just so excited to get in there now and get going.
32:48 Well, take it all in mate, the stage is yours.
32:50 Cheers mate.
32:51 It's a huge night for Joe Pickford because he's had a strange career. I remember him being matched with Aaron Morgan at the Copper Box on the undercard of Juvonte Davis, Liam Walsh.
33:01 That was back in 2017, brilliant fight, two undefeated fighters. He won it in the fifth by a stoppage, it should have been a springboard to big, big things and nothing happened.
33:12 He didn't box for 19 months after that and he just drifted.
33:16 Up against Eddington, win, lose or draw with a good performance, he can move forward into the penultimate round here. Standard looking to try and set his feet and let that left hand go. A right shot back at him from Cutler.
33:32 And Kyle Greaves has got to have told Standard Matt that he has to go out and get this now. He's behind, he needs knockdowns.
33:43 Definitely, but it looks like he's still trying to kind of pull with the jab and jab his way in. Like I said, I think he needs to just kind of really take the fight to him now.
33:52 Get the hands up and just walk to him. Catch and counter, drive the body shot. He's not going to out-fiddle or out-jab or he's not going to do this at long range.
34:10 You see, you know, at long range he's only got one winner, Cutler. He's faster, he's got quicker feet, he judges the distance better, he's got better timing.
34:18 That right hand there from Cutler found the target. It travels further than you think it's going to.
34:29 There it is again. He's the more experienced of the two, Cutler, and I think it is showing Stan O'Donnell a lot from this. As I mentioned, he's been out for Midlands area fight for ages and just couldn't really get anybody to fight him.
34:42 There's that single right again there from Cutler. So all the contests that he's had up until this point have been learning fights against opponents he was always going to beat.
34:54 So as mentioned previously with Chris Williams Smith against Richard Rathbore, he will learn more from this than from his previous ten fights combined.
35:03 And he cannot stay out of the way of that right hand at the minute, although he does land a left hand.
35:07 Best Shard of fight so far from him. Good left hook.
35:12 Good hook.
35:14 Good hook.
35:16 Good hook.
35:17 Stop asking. Stop asking.
35:45 He just hasn't got the speed of foot to really pin him down has he? Cutler just sees it coming, takes a little step away and all of a sudden he's got to start all over again.
35:54 So final few seconds of the round. One to go after this.
36:02 The atmosphere just bubbling up inside the Vitality Stadium.
36:10 Hope's arena, somewhere in there is Andy Scott.
36:13 Yeah I've made my way to the Steve Fletcher stand. Right at the back, in amongst the fans. Come on in everybody, come on in.
36:20 Who's going to win tonight?
36:22 Chris Smith all the way.
36:23 It's all right.
36:24 He's going to win it. Come on.
36:25 Who's going to Everton tomorrow? Presumably, no, no, no. It's all about tonight.
36:32 All about tomorrow.
36:33 And are you a football fan as well?
36:35 Well yeah, I support Chelsea.
36:37 I found the one Chelsea fan in the stadium.
36:41 He's happy Chelsea stayed up though. He's happy Chelsea stayed up.
36:44 I said that.
36:45 Yeah, you've had a nervous relegation battle but good luck to you.
36:48 We're safe, we're safe.
36:49 Thanks very much.
36:52 I think it's safe to say, Willem Smith, that's what they want, that's what they're going to get in their Luxembourg.
36:58 And hopefully they'll let me back at ringside.
37:05 Okay, one more to go here between Lee Cutler and Stanley Stannard.
37:09 It's an eliminator for the English Superwell to 8 title.
37:13 That is in the hands of Sam Gilley. We saw him in Alexandra Palace at the end of November.
37:20 I think people had the idea that he might vacate and this one would be kicked up to a fight for the full title but he hasn't done that.
37:29 He's been matched by the board with Kingsley Opanike.
37:34 So Cutler will have to wait and see what happens next with regards to a tilt at the English title.
37:39 But unless something goes badly wrong for him in the last two and a half minutes here, that's what he's going to get.
37:45 Stannard again just comes forward there looking for that left foot. Cutler is wise to it.
37:51 Good reflexes from Cutler.
38:20 Doubles up on the left hand there though Stannard and caught him with the second one.
38:23 He has tried to do that more as the fight's gone on. It's just proved difficult.
38:27 Yeah, it hasn't been a lack of effort or want to try it from Stannard but it's just the movement, speed, sharpness, just the all-round ability.
38:38 Certainly Cutler has been superior.
38:41 He double jabbed and got Cutler on the ropes but then stepped back and allowed him to just walk forward.
38:48 So Cutler just won. I know he was back in the centre.
38:50 He gets him there and he'll either spin him or he just lets him back out.
38:56 He takes the step back and allows him to just get back into the centre.
38:59 There's a fresh cut there now. Cutler caught on both eyes.
39:02 Just on the corner of the right eye, more blood coming.
39:06 It was a good left hand from Stannard about 30 seconds ago.
39:09 Centre ring. He looked for the right hand Cutler. Stannard just dipped off to his left hand side.
39:16 Dropped his height slightly and just shoveled that left hand up.
39:19 As Matt said, it's not been through any lack of effort and you feel like he will really grow from this 10 rounds.
39:26 Cutler with a nice jab there off the back foot and just using those feet to find open canvas.
39:31 He's done that really, really well.
39:33 We've been talking about the pressure on Chris Billingsmith this week but Cutler will have been feeling it himself.
39:43 He's been sold a lot of tickets and a lot was expected of him here.
39:48 He's delivered in really good style.
39:50 The crowd just trying to see if they can get a big finish out of him here in the last 15-20 seconds.
39:56 I think it's been a career best performance from Cutler.
40:00 What I would say is without doubt the best night of his career.
40:04 I also think he's much better than himself. He's not comfortable.
40:09 [BELL RINGING]
40:12 So there goes the final bell. A little kiss on the forehead there from Cutler to Stanley Stannard.
40:19 It's been very convivial between these two all week.
40:23 It's been good to see. It's been that kind of a card actually with a possible couple of exceptions.
40:31 But Cutler knows that he's got this in the bag.
40:35 A little bit of damage to the corner of each eye but nothing major.
40:39 Just been wiped out by the training team.
40:44 And as you said Tash, he just controlled the fight didn't he?
40:50 Right from the start right till the end he controlled the pace, he controlled the distance.
40:54 He was in command.
40:59 I think the first few rounds, the first two rounds, he was feeling each other out.
41:05 He was trying to get the distance, the timing.
41:07 I just think Cutler just took over and he forced the pace.
41:13 He got his timing right. He was just overall back then.
41:19 He was competitive. The rounds were close but then it just fell away from him.
41:25 Cutler probably had another level in him and another gear in him but we didn't have to get it out.
41:30 He was making jittery movements and he was just forcing Stannard to throw him, making him a little bit uncomfortable.
41:38 Okay, let's go to big mode.
41:42 Ladies and gentlemen, after ten full rounds we go to referee Lee Emery for the official decision.
41:53 He sees the contest 97 to 95.
41:58 Declaring your winner, Lee "Chaos" Cutler!
42:07 In three to stand up and a couple even. We'll be hearing from Cutler very shortly.
42:18 [music]
