What will happen if we kill all the mosquitoes around the globe?
Hey, guys, this is Sohail Ahmed here,
and today we are going to talk about the mosquitoes. Yes, you heard it right. Mosquitoes are a giant reason behind so many diseases. There are more than 3500 different species of mosquitoes, but only hundred of them are harmful.
But those type of hundred species are extremely dangerous. They have killed far more people than in the deadly wars in the history. So you might think that killing all the mosquitoes around the globe is a great idea. Well, of course not. Because if we kill all the mosquitoes, there are so many plants who wouldn't no longer be able to grow, because mosquitoes are a giant medium of pollination between the plants.
So many animals find it hard to find food for themselves, and they might also die. And if you have studied the food chain in your school, you must know that that our ecosystem is completely interconnected with different species. So if we remove only a single creature from the ecosystem, that would be a mega disaster for the entire ecosystem. And that's for today.
