00:00 Hey everyone!
00:18 I'm excited to share this glittery New Year's Eve look with you guys.
00:21 I'm going to be listening to my headphones while I'm doing my makeup because it helps
00:25 me concentrate and I'm a nerd.
00:28 So before I got started, I already had my foundation and contour done.
00:32 The products that I used are listed below.
00:35 Alright, so on my brows I'm using this Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in the color Chocolate.
00:42 And I'm using a small angle brush and I'm just applying it in small strokes.
00:47 Before I would have to use a bunch of different products to get this look, but this is the
00:51 only brow product that I've been using lately.
00:55 For my eyeshadow base, I'm going to use this paint pot from MAC called Painterly.
01:00 And I'm going to take a small flat brush and basically I'm going to carve out the bottom
01:04 line of the brows and then I'm going to spread it all over the whole lid in a really thin
01:10 layer as my eyeshadow base.
01:14 To highlight the brow bone, I'm going to mix these two Morphe shadows.
01:17 I'm not using the bright white one because I don't want it to be too cool up there.
01:22 And then I'm just using this small flat brush from Makeup Geek and I really like this brush
01:27 because it's nice and precise so I can get right up there next to that brow.
01:33 Now for my transition shade, I'm going to take this warm brown color from Morphe and
01:38 I'm going to dust it really lightly up into the upper crease area.
01:42 And I'm being careful because I want it to just kind of fade up into the color that I
01:47 put on the brow bone, so I don't want it to be too strong of a color.
01:51 Then for my crease, I'm taking a slightly deeper brown color and a blending brush and
01:57 I'm just going to blend that right into the crease.
02:00 And if you notice, this is just one single application.
02:03 I'm not dipping the brush back into the shadow and that's like a good trick if you want your
02:08 eyeshadow to be smooth.
02:10 So when you put too much product on, it's just harder to get things smooth so I really
02:14 just try and buff it in as much as I can before applying more shadow.
02:19 Okay so now for the glitter.
02:21 This is MAC 3D Silver.
02:22 This is a sample I've had for years, like since I worked there, and what we're going
02:26 to use to apply it is MAC Mixing Medium Gel.
02:29 I'm applying a thin layer of the mixing medium wherever I want the glitter to stick to.
02:34 If you don't have mixing medium, you can also use eyelash glue to stick the glitter.
02:39 That's not my favorite method though.
02:41 So now I'm going to take my flat brush and just pack the glitter right onto the lid.
02:45 And I'm not going to worry about it spilling everywhere just yet.
02:48 I'm going to clean that up afterwards.
02:53 And I've found that it's better to close your eyes and let the glitter dry that way as opposed
02:58 to keeping them open and the glitter has a better chance of creasing.
03:01 And for my top liner, I'm going to use my favorite liquid liner.
03:05 And it's important to use a liquid with this look because you need something that's going
03:09 to be able to go over the glitter and kind of fill in those blank spots.
03:14 And with a cream or pencil, it would be a lot harder to get a nice clean line.
03:20 Next I'm taking a small precision brush and a matte black shadow and now we're going to
03:24 cut the crease.
03:26 And also, I haven't cleaned up any of the glitter yet because there's no point in cleaning
03:29 it up because it's going to be still falling everywhere.
03:33 So now I'm just taking the edge of the brush and with very little product, I'm just drawing
03:38 a line across the crease.
03:41 This step will also help wipe away any of the loose glitter, kind of creating a more
03:45 clean line on the lid too.
03:53 Next I took the same brush that I applied my crease color with, the fluffy blending
03:58 brush and I'm just going in and smoothing over the line.
04:05 And then once everything's nice and smooth, I go in one more time with the edge of that
04:09 brush and I'm making that line really dark.
04:17 And then I felt like my crease needed a little bit more warmth, so I went ahead and took
04:21 soft brown from MAC and just dusted it really lightly up into the crease area.
04:28 Next I dusted away any loose glitter that was on my cheeks with a clean blush brush.
04:33 For my lashes, I'm actually going to apply two pairs of lashes and that's only because
04:39 the drugstore didn't have any good pairs that I wanted, so I'm applying this natural pair
04:44 first and then I'm going to apply these Ardell 402 lashes right on top of the first pair.
04:53 After giving the glue a minute to set, I'm going to pinch the fake lashes together with
04:58 my natural lashes.
04:59 And then I always go over the liner one more time after I apply my lashes so that the lash
05:04 band blends in with your eyeliner.
05:07 For my under eyes, I'm going to be using Studio Fix foundation.
05:10 This isn't intended for the under eyes, but I just really like the way it looks.
05:14 It's a nice matte look and it's really bright.
05:17 I think typically though, it's a little bit heavy for the under eyes.
05:21 Next I'm going to brighten the inner corners of the eyes with this matte white eyeshadow
05:26 and a small brush.
05:28 And I'm just packing that shadow right around the tear ducts of the eyes and taking it slightly
05:32 in on the bottom lid as well.
05:34 Then I will shade out the lower lash line with this small C431 brush from Morphe and
05:40 a brown eyeshadow.
05:41 And by the way, I absolutely love this brush.
05:44 I think it was something that was missing from my kit.
05:48 And it's great because it's nice and precise.
05:50 So I'm just smoothing that area out and trying to get that brown nice and strong.
05:57 Next I'm going to add some of this Black Track.
05:59 It's a fluid line from MAC and I'm applying it right along the lower lash line.
06:06 And for my bottom lashes, I'm just adding a little bit of this Maybelline Great Lash.
06:11 And the brush is a little bit dry, which I actually like because then it's really great
06:15 at separating the lashes.
06:18 And then originally I wanted to do red lips with this look.
06:21 I just figured I'd include it to show you guys.
06:24 I don't know if it was the shade of red or what, but I put this on and I just felt like
06:28 a total clown.
06:30 So here is me trying to be cute, trying to pull it off, but it just was not working for
06:34 me.
06:36 So I took off the red lips and went back to my comfort zone.
06:39 A nice nude lip, which I feel like pretty much goes with everything.
06:43 So I used Myth Lipstick from MAC and Oak Lip Liner and a clear gloss from Motives Cosmetics.
06:54 So here's the complete look.
06:55 I hope you guys liked this tutorial.
06:58 These are some photos that I took on my Nikon.
07:01 These are unretouched photos, they don't have filters on them, but I thought I would include
07:05 them because it looked really nice with the little twinkly lights and whatnot.
07:09 So I hope you guys have a good New Year's.
07:10 Be safe, have fun, and I will see you in 2014!
07:13 Does that hurt?
07:30 That's cute.
07:31 (laughs)
