00:00 Hey guys, so today I'm going to show you how to wash your makeup brushes and
00:04 You might be thinking why would you wash your makeup brushes?
00:08 Well, first of all, it's really really unsanitary to like never wash your makeup brushes because if you think about it
00:15 You're putting makeup on over and over again back on your face. It's just building bacteria up in the brushes and
00:22 So every like three weeks I do this you should probably do it more often, but I get really lazy
00:29 Um, but you should probably wash your brushes every like two weeks
00:34 But yeah, so I'm gonna show you how to do it so let's get started
00:41 So first I just have these towels laid out and I have one
00:46 Rolled and then I have this so it's more slanted and I just have an extra paper towel
00:51 And then I have over here is all my brushes and then I have olive oil dish soap
00:58 Water and then just an empty one to mix it around with
01:01 So yeah, first I'm just gonna put my brush in the water
01:05 So just make it wet
01:08 and I take a little bit off and then I'm gonna
01:11 tap it a little bit and
01:14 just barely in the
01:17 olive oil and then in the dish soap and
01:20 Then you get a little bit wet and it's gonna
01:26 Make shit all around in here
01:28 And see how much makeup in there
01:31 And you can do it on your hands too, but it's kind of messy
01:36 So I just do it in here
01:39 And what the olive oil does is it like conditions?
01:44 your
01:46 brushes
01:47 So the bristles don't get like hard and stuff and then the soap obviously gets rid of the bacteria and washes the makeup out
01:55 So yeah
01:57 So now I'm just getting the like soap and stuff out
02:05 And getting all the extra stuff and you want to squeeze all the water out
02:10 And then you want to lay it on a towel like this
02:20 You
02:22 You
02:49 So, um now that you have like your sponges and stuff
02:54 So if you have like a beauty blender or like some kind of makeup sponge
02:57 what you're gonna want to do is
03:01 First of all, wet it so it's all damp and squishy and stuff
03:05 And
03:09 Then get it like do the same thing you did with the
03:14 Brushes except don't put in olive oil if you don't really need to and then do this like
03:19 Just wash it like rub on all the makeup spots try to get all the makeup out of it
03:26 but um
03:28 After you wash all that out, it still doesn't get all the bacteria out
03:32 So when I'm done with this, I'll show you how to get all the bacteria out
03:37 So yeah
03:41 So
03:43 Now what you want to do is just fill a little bowl like this and fill it like with an inch of water in it
03:54 It has to be exact and then put your thing in and then what you want to do is
04:00 Put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and that will like it's scientifically proven. I don't know what really happens but um
04:09 People do it with their dish sponges, too
04:11 So you just put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and you take it out. It will be kind of hot but um
04:16 Yeah, it gets all of it out. And then you just want to squeeze it out and let it dry and then it's all clean
04:23 So that will be what it looks like when it's done. It's not really different. But yeah
04:29 So now I'm all done washing my brushes
04:32 And as you can see, they're all facing
04:36 like downward so it the water doesn't go into the barrel and
04:41 If it gets into the barrel, it will like loosen up the glue and then all the hairs will come out
04:46 So yeah, you just want to let it dry overnight and then it will be
04:51 Crazy
