00:00 I'm so sick of that same old love
00:02 That shitty tears be blue
00:04 I'm so sick of that same old love
00:06 My body's had enough
00:08 Oh, oh, oh, oh
00:10 That same old love
00:12 Oh, oh, oh, oh
00:14 That same old love
00:16 Oh, oh, oh, oh
00:18 That same old love
00:20 Hey everyone, it's Keegan and today I'm going to be doing a homecoming
00:24 Wait, what's this video called?
00:26 A homecoming like guide, life hack, video
00:28 I know a lot of you guys have homecoming coming up
00:30 and I have been to two so far
00:32 I'm going to another one in October
00:34 So I thought that I have some tips that might help you guys get ready for homecoming
00:38 So I put together this little like checklist that is basically a list of things
00:42 that will help you get ready for homecoming
00:44 in like a very like less, not stressful way
00:46 And if you already had your homecoming or you're not like old enough
00:48 or you're too old to go to homecoming
00:50 this can also work for prom
00:52 or if you're like a little bit older
00:54 this can also work for prom
00:56 or a wedding or any like event
00:58 or just any time you want to look nice
01:00 I will be doing a get ready with me soon
01:02 just after October
01:04 once I have that other homecoming
01:06 so I can put pictures in that video
01:08 Next video is going to be a fall room decor like DIY video
01:10 and also comment down below any other fall videos that you want to see
01:14 and yeah
01:16 I love you guys so much
01:18 and let's get started
01:20 (music)
01:34 First thing on our checklist is a date
01:36 so whether it's your friends
01:38 or a cute boy
01:40 just text some people and see if they want to go with you
01:42 it's really simple
01:44 I've went with both friends and a boy
01:46 and honestly it's more fun going with friends
01:48 here but yeah
01:50 you want to get a date first and then the next thing
01:52 is to get the tickets
01:54 because you kind of don't want to show up and not have a ticket
01:56 so this is my fake ticket
01:58 that I made
02:00 it's cute right?
02:02 The next is the most important thing and it's the dress
02:04 I would recommend getting your dress
02:06 at least a month before homecoming
02:08 and any alteration should be done at least a week before
02:10 the dress is something
02:12 that should make you feel confident
02:14 I know that I had a dress that was backless freshman year
02:16 and it made me super insecure
02:18 a way to make sure your dress is different from everyone else's
02:20 is to get it altered
02:22 this dress was long and I got it altered to be short
02:24 you can also go to stores far away or second hand stores
02:26 or get it online
02:28 but make sure if you get your dress online
02:30 that there's a return policy because sometimes
02:32 it can end up not looking anything like it is online
02:34 also make sure you have some options
02:36 here was last year's homecoming dress
02:38 and if you have these little strings attached to it
02:40 and you have a strapless dress
02:42 I would recommend keeping them because you will not be able to hang it
02:44 without them. The next thing is
02:46 the shoes. The shoes are super uncomfortable
02:48 let's be real here guys. Heels are terrible
02:50 I recommend putting band-aids on
02:52 any problem areas that you know will be problems
02:54 for blisters before even wearing
02:56 the shoes. Also hairspray
02:58 your feet which sounds super weird
03:00 but this helps the shoes stay on longer
03:02 make sure you know how to walk in them
03:04 I will link down below a video on how to walk in heels
03:06 also
03:08 yep we're just pretending to walk here
03:10 make sure they match with your dress and they're not too high
03:12 and let's be real
03:14 here guys the shoes come off when the
03:16 homecoming starts. The next
03:18 thing on the list is makeup
03:20 so this isn't technically makeup
03:24 but it's a quick blemish fix
03:26 so first you want to take an ice cube
03:28 and then put it on any acne
03:30 and for about like 30-60
03:32 seconds. I don't really know how this
03:34 works but it does work. Also
03:36 take eye drops. This is actually like
03:38 contact solution. I didn't know if there was a difference
03:40 but just put that on a tissue and
03:42 put that on your acne for about 3 minutes
03:44 I was impatient and did not wait the 3 minutes
03:46 and 30 seconds so it didn't really work
03:48 for me because I didn't do it long enough
03:50 this next tip is to do your eyes first making sure
03:52 there is no fallout on your eyes
03:54 so it will ruin your makeup. A lot of people wonder why
03:56 I do my eye makeup first in a lot of my
03:58 videos. This is why
04:00 so I don't have fallout and ruin my foundation
04:02 but I'm just priming my eyes here because that's super important
04:04 this next tip is how
04:06 to make the perfect winged liner so take
04:08 some tape and put it on the back of your
04:10 hand. Take it off and put it back on a few
04:12 times. This will take off the sticky residue
04:14 so it doesn't pull at your skin or leave any
04:16 residue on your face
04:18 after you've done that you want to line up with
04:20 your lash line and the end of your eyebrow
04:22 make sure to tap it in so there's
04:24 no holes or bumps or anything
04:26 that will ruin our eyeliner and do it to the exact
04:28 same side, the other
04:30 side, whatever and make sure that they are both
04:32 even. Then you
04:34 want to line your eyes after that
04:36 the tape will make sure that
04:38 the wings are even and it doesn't matter if you get
04:40 some liner on the tape because
04:42 the tape will be taken off soon
04:44 so once you take it off
04:46 you will have like the perfect
04:48 winged liner that's even
04:50 and perfect
04:52 this next tip is how to intensify
04:54 your eyeshadow so what
04:56 you want to do is take some water
04:58 eye drops or setting spray, spray
05:00 it on your brush and then dip it into
05:02 your eyeshadow. This will just give your
05:04 eyeshadow a very intense foiled look
05:06 I'd recommend doing this on your entire lid
05:08 but I just did it on the inner corner to
05:10 show you guys. This I did for homecoming
05:12 and I absolutely love this trick
05:14 it works amazingly and gives your
05:16 eyeshadow a very intense foiled look
05:18 primer
05:20 is so important when your makeup is going
05:22 to be on for so long and you're going to be in an
05:24 area that is so hot because of all
05:26 the people dancing. I'm applying two
05:28 I'm applying one for my pores and one to make
05:30 my makeup look better
05:32 and last longer. Avoid SPF
05:34 SPF will give you a white cast and
05:36 it's not cute in pictures whether
05:38 sunscreen, what?
05:40 sunscreen itself or a product
05:42 that includes sunscreen, just
05:44 throw it out. Next
05:46 one is to color correct.
05:48 Cream concealers are great to cover up redness
05:50 this one is from Makeup Forever
05:52 so I'm just applying this to any redness
05:54 on my face and then I'm just going to blend
05:56 it out with foundation. I would
05:58 recommend setting your foundation even if you don't
06:00 normally set your foundation. I would totally
06:02 recommend doing this just because of
06:04 all the sweat and oils that your face will be
06:06 getting. Avoid translucent powders because
06:08 they will give you a white cast in your
06:10 pictures and you don't want that
06:12 blend your contour in. I did not do this
06:14 last year and it's so embarrassing
06:16 but blend your contour
06:18 see? Look at this picture right there
06:20 see? Yeah I didn't do that. When you blend you
06:22 want to blend in an upward motion to lift
06:24 your cheekbones instead of dragging them down
06:26 so I'm just doing that here and you can
06:28 also take some powder and put them on your
06:30 jawline just to sharpen it up a little bit
06:32 avoid shimmery face products
06:34 so you don't look like a disco ball. I'm taking
06:36 a matte blush and adding
06:38 a highlighter to the high points of my
06:40 face. I love this highlighter. It's by
06:42 Becca Cosmetics and Jaclyn Hill
06:44 and I'm just applying that everywhere
06:46 my like cheekbones and nose
06:48 and it's so pretty. I love it
06:50 and if you have a strapless dress you can also
06:52 pop this on your collarbones
06:54 add false eyelashes. It's cute. You don't need
06:56 to do this. I have no idea how to apply false lashes
06:58 I will link down below a video on how
07:00 to do it. This is like the second time I've ever done it
07:02 in my entire life and I would recommend
07:04 practicing this like in advance
07:06 also practice your makeup in advance. Do not
07:08 wing it on the day. Like that is not
07:10 good. Not good at all
07:12 so I would recommend
07:14 checking out that video that I linked down below
07:16 um long lasting lipstick
07:18 is next so just apply your normal lipstick
07:20 that you want to wear. This is not the
07:22 best application but it's whatever
07:24 so then I'm taking
07:26 a tissue and blotting my lips
07:28 after that I will be taking a powder
07:30 and powdering up my lipstick
07:32 I'm using my normal face powder
07:34 for this and after that I'm
07:36 applying the lipstick again
07:38 you can do this step a several, not a several
07:40 several times if you want
07:42 your lipstick to be extra long wearing
07:44 so I'm just applying that
07:46 here. I'm taking some powder and outlining
07:48 my lips so it doesn't bleed through
07:50 to my face and
07:52 I'm taking my finger and just running it across
07:54 my lips so I will not get any lipstick on
07:56 my teeth. So here we go we have long
07:58 lasting, bleed proof
08:00 and preventing from
08:02 getting on your teeth lipstick. Is that
08:04 would that be a good way of saying it? I don't
08:06 really know. Next on our
08:08 checklist is nails. This is
08:10 not nails. Did it say hair? This said hair
08:12 so I'm taking some dry shampoo even
08:14 if my hair is clean I'm just adding this
08:16 to my roots for some volume and shaking it
08:18 in. The next thing for volume that
08:20 you can do is take a teasing brush and back comb
08:22 your hair. This will also add a
08:24 ton of volume. These are just like a ton
08:26 of volume tips. I'm taking some hairspray, spraying
08:28 it on my hands and then running my hands through my roots
08:30 this will add a ton of volume. Also
08:32 you do not want to forget hairspray. Hairspray is
08:34 your life saver for homecoming
08:36 Now
08:38 we're talking about the picture location so
08:40 I would recommend just going onto Google
08:42 and googling some places that are
08:44 cute for pictures in your like
08:46 hometown area or city that you live
08:48 in and take a picture, send it to your
08:50 friends and see if they like it
08:52 Little tip is I would practice your posing
08:54 in front of a mirror just to see which angle
08:56 you prefer on yourself the best
08:58 The best time to take pictures
09:02 is sunrise which is 9am or sunset
09:04 which is 6-7pm
09:06 Let's talk about the clutch
09:08 So here is my clutch
09:10 I have no idea where it's from but first thing you
09:12 want are some band aids just in case our
09:14 heels start to bother us. Some bobby pins
09:16 in case our updo is falling out
09:18 because that always happens
09:20 Some powder to set our face
09:22 in case we get a little bit oily. Some lipstick
09:24 to touch up our lips. Money
09:26 I would recommend anywhere from $20-$40
09:28 Eyelash glue in case our
09:30 eyelashes start falling off
09:32 A ticket of course to get into homecoming
09:34 Your school ID because some schools
09:36 require you to have your school ID to get in
09:38 and most importantly your film
09:40 So I'm going to be honest here the clutch is kind of awkward
09:42 like you don't know where to put it or anything to do
09:44 with it so here is my recommendation
09:46 is to take a rubbery phone case and add
09:48 the complete essentials in there
09:50 and there's your phone. Like it's perfect
09:52 It's like the best clutch ever
09:54 Next thing is nails. Nails are such a personal
09:56 preference. I recommend either
09:58 having the color of your dress or French
10:00 Make sure you get this done at the
10:02 most. A week before homecoming
10:04 I for the day of
10:06 and the next place, or not next place
10:08 what am I talking about? The next thing is dinner
10:10 reservations. One year I went to Paradise
10:12 Bakery and one year I went to a super fancy restaurant
10:14 so it doesn't matter where you go as long
10:16 as you make reservations. Next thing is
10:18 to have fun
10:20 That is the end of this video
10:22 I hope you guys enjoyed. I love you so so so
10:24 much and I will see you
10:26 in my next video. Bye!
