Ben Webster & Tete Montoliu Trio - album Gentle Ben 1972

  • anno scorso
In 1965 Ben Webster left the USA and move to Europe (first to Copenhagen and then to Amsterdam) where he toured and collaborated with many European muscians. In 1972 he moved to Barcellona to see his friend and fellow pianist Tete Montoliu with whom he had developed a great understanding concert after concert. On the occasion of the visit they decided to make a record, together with the two regular accompanists of the Tete Montoliu Trio bassist Eric Peter and drummer Peer Wyboris. Notably is the spontaneity of the dialogs between the instruments of Webster and Montoliu, the richness of the timbres of the sax and piano, the linearity of the arrangements in a rich and angaging sound.
