A major regional paediatric service in Victoria has stopped taking new patients as a staffing crisis hits the industry. The Albury Wodonga Paediatric Group has lost three of its five doctors, forcing parents to seek appointments in Melbourne and other regional centres, where wait lists can be as long as 18 months.
