00:00 an absolute legend in the Muay Thai world as well and his Kittikun Dechapan
00:04 is from a very big fighting family. He has got a lot to prove only 17 years old
00:10 on his pro debut representing Primo Fight Shorts. I spoke with Adam Kanov
00:16 before this fight and he said one of his favorite fighters is Muhammad Ali. Let's
00:20 see if he fights like him. Round number one underway. Adam Kanov with the bright
00:26 green shoes and Kittikun with the Primo Shorts and the blue shoes. Both fighters
00:35 making their pro debut. Both should just take their time pick their shots and
00:39 just think about what they need to do next. There's no reason to rush in on
00:42 your first fight. Try and get some experience. Again Adam Kanov is
00:49 representing Venom Muay Thai Gym which is an infamous Muay Thai gym and they
00:53 have some very good fighters. His cornerman right now is a fantastic Muay
00:58 Thai fighter who has recently retired. So if you've got anybody in your corner
01:02 that's the person you would like. Some nice movement already by Adam Kanov. Just
01:06 a nice strong guard, some nice footwork. Thinking about his shots not rushing in
01:11 or anything and Kittikun you know looks a little bit nervous. Looks like he's
01:15 just trying to find his timing and you can see he's got a bit of a Muay Thai
01:19 background. Every time he sets stands back he resets and brings his hands down.
01:23 He needs to get out of that habit. He needs to keep his hands up when he's
01:27 going back. But Kittikun looks slightly off balance and maybe if Adam Kanov can
01:33 read that he can land a big hook on him.
01:37 Both fighters have a huge cheering section as well. Adam Kanov representing
01:45 Uzbekistan. He's telling me before that he has had over 38 fights. Not in pro
01:51 boxing but he's had 38 fights in other disciplines. You know Muay Thai, kickboxing
01:56 and he said for this fight he's been working a lot on his cardio and power.
01:59 And a beautiful left hook to the body by Adam Kanov and Kittikun just eats
02:05 that as if nothing happened.
02:10 A nice round so far by both of these fighters. Again this might be their pro
02:16 debut but they're definitely not new to fighting. They've been in these rings
02:21 before. A nice veteran move by the 17 year old Kittikun where he held the jab of his
02:28 opponent and threw his own combination. Almost like in Muay Thai where you catch
02:32 the leg and throw your own shot. He did the same in boxing which you're not
02:35 allowed to do but I do like it. A nice jab to the body by Kittikun. Both fighters
02:43 showing their good footwork just constantly on the balls of their feet.
02:47 Usually by the third and the fourth round that stops because they get tired.
02:50 And a nice combination landed by Adam Kanov to the body of Kittikun. A nice
02:58 long jab by Kittikun but he needs to follow it up with something. You cannot
03:01 just for a single shot and expect to win. He needs to come over the top with an
03:06 overhand right if he's throwing that jab to the body. Adam Kanov needs to do a
03:13 little bit more than just throwing a lazy jab. He needs to throw a right hand
03:17 with it. Eight seconds to go of the first round. A nice body shot and an uppercut
03:24 and a great way to finish the round. On my own official scorecard I would have
03:29 given that first round to Adam Kanov, no Muhammad. I think he just did a little
03:34 bit more than his opponent. Although it was a very close first round I think the
03:38 cleaner shots were landed by Adam Kanov. Let's see some of these fight replays.
03:42 So that was that nice one-two landed by Kittikun and that's where he caught the
03:47 jab and then landed his own combination. Now that's not legal in boxing. It's
03:51 legal in Muay Thai where you catch the leg but you cannot do that in boxing where
03:54 you hold your opponent's arm. However I do like that shot. I thought that was a
03:58 very good move by him. I like it when someone who's from a Muay Thai background
04:03 actually implements some Muay Thai styles into the boxing ring and he's
04:07 just demonstrated it there. He's caught his opponent's shot and then thrown his own
04:11 combination there. However I think Adam Kanov did a little bit more and I think
04:17 he looks like a more slick boxer. He had a nice calm stance, some good footwork. So
04:24 I'm interested to see how he comes out in the second round. Round number two
04:31 underway. Kittikun, Detchapant representing Thailand with the Primo
04:35 shorts and the black shorts and we've got Adam Kanov representing Uzbekistan
04:40 with the light green shoes and the black shorts. A nice overhand right that finds
04:49 his home. A lot more aggression from both of these fighters. The first round they
04:56 were just learning about their fighter and now they're starting to put some
04:59 power shots together. This is their pro boxing debuts however Adam Kanov has had
05:06 over 38 fights before and Kittikun, Detchapant is from a fighting family. So
05:11 again this might be their first pro boxing fight but they have been in the
05:15 ring several times before. Some nice head movement by Kittikun and he throws a
05:20 nice overhand right. A little bit short of the target. He needs to plant his foot
05:25 in between his opponent's leg and then throw that overhand right. Punches start
05:32 with the feet first. Once you plant your feet then you can throw the shots. But a
05:37 nice round to start the second. There it is again. Adam Kanov throwing some nice
05:45 combinations. Just a double jab with an overhand right behind the guard of his
05:49 opponent. Both fighters are fighting in the center of the ring as well so that's
05:55 usually a sign of someone who hasn't done a pro boxing fight before. You need
05:59 to find different areas of the ring to throw certain combinations. It's better to
06:05 throw your power shots when your opponent is near the corner in the ropes
06:07 like this. That's where Adam Kanov needs to keep his opponent against the ropes.
06:13 Some very nice work by Adam Kanov and then Kittikun fires back with a jab to
06:19 the body. But fighters now need to just calm down, breathe and both get behind a
06:28 jab and look for combinations. Do not just throw shots for the sake of throwing
06:33 shots. You need to be timing it and thinking about your shots. And a big
06:39 overhand right misses. Kittikun leaving his chin open when he's throwing that
06:48 double jab. However Adam Kanov throwing another combination. Both fighters firing
06:54 in the corner. This is where Adam Kanov wants to keep his opponent. Keep him in
07:01 that corner with a jab. Some nice combinations landed by both of the
07:12 fighters already. A nice jab by Adam Kanov and then another hand right by
07:17 Kittikun. Both fighters trading in the corner of the ring. Ten seconds to go.
07:26 Who wants it more? Who wants to end this round strong? A very nice second round by
07:34 both of these fighters in their pro boxing debut. That was a very close
07:39 second round. There was no obvious winner. However I think Adam Kanov again did
07:43 land those cleaner more powerful shots. Let's see some fight replays. There it is
07:49 that overhand right that he threw twice and landed twice. And again. Some nice
07:59 combinations and a nice flurry in the center of the ring. And again Adam Kanov
08:02 just throwing some flurries in that corner. You can see the Muay Thai
08:08 background of Adam Kanov with the way he throws his shots. Every time he throws
08:13 that overhand right he turns his knuckles. And that's very very common in
08:17 Muay Thai where you turn the knuckles of your punch to land a lot harder on your
08:21 opponent. However in boxing you can hit them with any area of that glove. So I
08:27 think he needs to get used to that. You do not need to twist your shots every time
08:31 to throw an overhand right. He needs to throw a little bit more relaxed. Throw it
08:35 behind a jab but just throw the right hand more more fluid. Round number three
08:43 underway. Adam Kanov representing Uzbekistan with the green shoes and the
08:50 black shorts. And we've got Kitikun Dechapant representing Thailand with the
08:54 blue shoes and the primo black shorts.
08:59 Very nice work so far by Adam Kanov just keeping his opponent in the corner and
09:04 against the ropes. Kitikun throwing a lazy right hand and if he's not careful
09:10 he will get caught with a lead left hook by Adam Kanov. And Adam Kanov is just
09:18 doing a good job but he just ate three shots by Kitikun who is now putting the
09:22 pressure on him. A beautiful overhand right. Both fighters putting on the line
09:31 here and I think Kitikun realizes he may have lost the first two rounds and
09:34 needs to end this third round very strong. A nice one-two by Adam Kanov but
09:45 he needs to do more of that. And again he's got his opponent against the ropes
09:49 you can hear his corner shouting he needs to go again. Nice jabs by Adam
09:57 Kanov circling his opponent with a jab. A nice flurry as well. Some nice
10:06 combinations being landed by Kitikun but Adam Kanov throws one of his own.
10:11 His opponent is shouting sorry his corner is shouting one two three which
10:20 is the left hand right hand and the lead left hook. He's asking Adam Kanov to
10:25 throw a one two three. A jab backhand and a hook. There it is. He's listening to his
10:33 corner well but he's eaten two shots.
10:37 Kitikun Dechapan is 17 years old and has eaten some very very powerful shots
10:44 and is still standing. I want to see Kitikun to put his hands a little bit
10:51 higher when he's going forward there's no reason to drop your hands. Adam Kanov
10:55 needs to get behind that jab. That jab was working for him in the first round
10:58 really really well. He needs to use that jab a lot more than for a big overhand
11:03 right. Every time Adam Kanov gets hit he's almost trying to show the ref and
11:09 the judges that he's not hurt. There's no reason to do that. Take the shot and
11:13 carry on. The judges are not convinced when you keep trying to tell them you're
11:18 not hurt. A nice combination. He needs to keep it there and keep doing that. There's
11:26 no reason to stop by Adam Kanov. He needs to keep his opponent there. Again Adam
11:33 Kanov representing Venom Muay Thai. Ten seconds to go.
11:37 Nice right hand and he nearly went down. Both fighters are firing in that corner
11:43 again. What a fantastic way to end the round. That was a good way to end the
11:53 round. Again we cannot leave it in the judges scorecards. Let's have a look at
12:00 his. And that was a big right hand that just skimmed the chin of Adam Kanov.
12:09 And again Adam Kanov is throwing about eight nine punch combinations. There's
12:14 not much power behind him but he is connecting and that will look good on
12:17 the judges scorecard. Look at that beautiful overhand right. Adam Kanov
12:24 needs to go back to that overhand right. The way you set that punch up is lots of
12:29 jabs to the body. Bring your opponent's hands down and then step in with an
12:34 overhand right. Adam Kanov can really end this fight if he just steps in on that
12:42 overhand right and Kittikun I think needs to just get a little bit scrappier.
12:45 I think he needs to throw more punches. Round number four. Last and final round.
12:56 Kittikun, dutch pant from Thailand with the blue shoes and the primo shorts and
13:03 we've got Adam Kanov, Nurmahamed from Uzbekistan with the light green shoes
13:08 and the venom black shorts. Representing Venom Muay Thai in Pattaya. Final round.
13:18 Who wants it more? Again Adam Kanov is too concerned of trying to let people
13:24 know he's not hurt by the shots that he's being hit with but again this
13:27 doesn't impress the judges. He needs to just keep going. Pretend the audience is
13:34 not there and just keep throwing shots.
13:38 Kittikun shouldn't be lazy with that right hand. He needs to get behind the
13:45 jab for a nice jab and then nice jabs to the body as well. And again Kittikun
13:51 is coming back firing. Throwing some big winging slapping shots that are hitting
13:56 the body of Adam Kanov and the chin.
14:01 Both fighters in the center of the ring. A nice clinch just to calm the fight
14:10 down a good way so that you just clinch your opponent. Take a breath and think
14:14 about what you're going to do next.
14:20 Both opponents trading big big shots. Heavy lever is being exchanged. This has
14:30 been a very even final round but Kittikun needs to throw some more precise
14:36 shots and not just slapping his way through. It's almost like a windmill shot.
14:41 If it lands it's a great shot when it lands but very often it doesn't. Kittikun
14:47 needs to throw straight shots. He needs to give up on throwing that swinging
14:52 shot. Adam Kanov is doing a very good job of keeping his opponent against the
14:57 ropes using his footwork beautifully.
15:02 Constantly on the balls of his feet. Adam Kanov is very very fit for this
15:07 fight. He said he was trained on his cardio and power and you can see that he
15:12 is not tiring. It is hard to stay on the balls of your feet for this many rounds.
15:17 Not long to go in this fourth final round.
15:25 Adam Kanov's corner. The Venomoy Taijima telling him now, now you need to go now.
15:33 There's no reason to wait and again some beautiful combinations by Adam Kanov.
15:40 Just slightly missing with that right hand and Kittikun coming back with his
15:45 own flurry. I don't think Kittikun is doing enough. Ten seconds to go of the
15:50 fourth and final round. He needs to push. He needs to secure the victory Adam Kanov.
15:56 And that was a fantastic round. But I think Adam Kanov did just enough to win
16:03 that fight and I think Kittikun, he's only 17 years old. This was his pro debut.
16:07 He has got a lot to learn and again I'm no judge. I'm just a commentator so let's
16:12 see. Look at that fantastic right hand that lands on the chin of Kittikun.
16:18 However Kittikun just doesn't make any excuses. He just comes back and starts
16:22 firing his own combinations. There it is. Kittikun had some very good
16:27 combinations and some very good moments in this fight. But I think Adam Kanov
16:32 just had some better moments. Now again I'm not a judge but I would have given
16:38 that to Adam Kanov for just his precise combinations and Kittikun I think just
16:43 did a little bit too little. Let's see.
