00:04 ♫ Gonna smoke me a fatty brisket
00:20 ♫ I got my barbecue
00:21 - Welcome to BBQPitBoys.com.
00:24 Today we're grilling up some bacon and egg pan pie at the
00:27 pit, and it's real easy to do.
00:29 Alright, we've got a few pounds of bacon here,
00:32 and we'll grill 'em up, because we're gonna need 'em
00:35 for the recipe, right?
00:36 And it might take an hour, hour and a two,
00:38 at about 250, 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
00:41 Alright, the bacon has been smoked,
00:46 and now let's show you what you need for this recipe.
00:50 You're gonna need some cheese,
00:52 you're gonna need some potato chips,
00:53 couple dozen eggs, like I said, a few pounds of bacon,
00:57 some onion, we have some maple syrup.
01:00 Alright, let's put this together.
01:03 Now, like I said, we pre-cooked the bacon,
01:06 not crispy, you want it soft, just like that,
01:10 impliable, it's about cooked three quarters of the way
01:13 through, maybe a little bit more.
01:15 And what you do is you take a few strips,
01:18 and you roll 'em up, just like that.
01:21 Now, if you've never had bacon and egg pan pie before,
01:26 you definitely gotta check it out.
01:29 It's a great breakfast, or it's a great full meal,
01:32 anytime you want.
01:33 Oh, protein overload, bacon and eggs, it's good.
01:37 Alright, let's show you again how you do it.
01:42 Just take your bacon, and roll it, maybe a few strips.
01:46 You can get creative and figure out how to do it, right?
01:51 Now, of course, this is pork belly bacon,
01:55 and you've gotta use pork belly bacon.
01:59 You know about that, right?
02:02 Again, we just start to roll, add another piece,
02:06 and we're gonna place 'em in a black iron pan.
02:10 This is about a 12 inch black iron pan.
02:14 Oh, man, looks like a bed of roses, huh?
02:18 (laughs)
02:20 Oh, man.
02:23 Now, we have in here approximately
02:26 two and a half pounds of bacon, more or less, alright?
02:31 And this is what it looks like when you get it in the pan.
02:35 Now, here we're adding a little veggie oil
02:38 for the veggie-matics, and we're doing this
02:42 so the eggs will not stick to this black iron pan.
02:45 Now, this recipe calls for some onion, like I said,
02:48 so you're gonna chop it up.
02:52 Maybe a good-sized onion.
02:54 And now we're gonna break the eggs into the pan.
03:00 You wanna go sunny-side up, right?
03:03 Oh, man.
03:03 And you're gonna need a lot of eggs.
03:09 Like I said, you're gonna need a dozen and a half eggs,
03:16 maybe two dozen, depends how big your eggs are, right?
03:21 So you got 'em sunny-side up.
03:23 Oh, man, that looks good.
03:25 Now, next step, we're gonna add a diced onion,
03:33 right to the top.
03:35 Nice layer.
03:36 And then we'll crack some black peppercorn.
03:42 Oh, man.
03:44 Looks good enough to eat already.
03:49 And then we're gonna place 'em on the grill
03:51 opposite the hot coals.
03:53 We're indirect heating.
03:54 This gives us a slow heat, and we're running a temperature
03:57 of about 275 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
04:01 And here we're about halfway through,
04:05 and we're just gonna spin the pan for some even cooking.
04:09 You may not have to do that on your grill, right?
04:12 Oh, man, look at that.
04:14 Eggs are setting up nice.
04:18 Now, while we're waiting for the eggs to cook,
04:21 we've got some potato chips here.
04:24 And this is the starch to this bacon and egg pan pie, right?
04:28 And you wanna crush the chips.
04:31 Let's use a good chip.
04:33 Ho, ho, ho.
04:35 Oh, man.
04:35 It's gonna be good.
04:38 You can crush 'em any way you want.
04:45 (upbeat country music)
04:48 Now, here we've got some shredded cheese,
04:53 and we're gonna add it to the chips.
04:55 And use your favorite, shredded cheese.
04:59 Give it a good mix.
05:00 And the eggs are just about done.
05:06 They're still runny.
05:07 And here we're gonna add our cheese and chip blend.
05:13 Coat it fairly thick.
05:14 This is gonna add a bit of crispiness
05:17 to this bacon and egg pan pie.
05:20 And through the miracle of time,
05:26 this bacon and egg pan pie is done.
05:30 We're gonna put it off the grill and let it cool down.
05:34 Oh, man, look at that.
05:39 (upbeat country music)
05:43 I say it's time to eat.
05:46 Now, you can serve these up any way you want, right?
05:56 Just slice it.
05:57 You could probably serve eight people with this.
06:04 But maybe four is just enough.
06:08 Look at that.
06:10 Oh, ho, ho, ho.
06:13 Lord have mercy.
06:15 You gotta be kidding me.
06:17 Like I said, this is a grand breakfast.
06:22 All the protein you need to get you
06:24 through a long, hard day, right?
06:27 Oh, man.
06:36 Take a look at that.
06:39 Nice, crisp layer.
06:41 Bacon is cooked perfect.
06:44 You can set it up with some maple syrup if you want.
06:55 Or your favorite condiment for your eggs.
06:58 Oh, ho.
07:02 Oh, ho.
07:03 Yeah, that looks good.
07:14 Got a crunchy layer going into some soft eggs and bacon.
07:32 And of course, we do apologize for eating
07:34 in front of you like this,
07:36 but we call this pit master privilege.
07:39 You're just gonna have to make your own
07:42 bacon and egg pan pie.
07:43 So the next time you're looking for a recipe for your pit,
