00:00 With Asian eye shape, you tend to either have a mono lid or sort of a double lid with a
00:11 bit of a hood.
00:13 Sometimes you don't have a natural crease, so you have to create a crease.
00:16 So there are a couple things you can do.
00:19 You can either do an all over color and then sort of draw a crease in, just with a little
00:23 bit of eye shadow, so it creates the illusion that you have more of a crease than you actually
00:28 do.
00:29 Or the other thing you can do is do a gradation of color.
00:32 Start out really dark along the lash line, a medium tone in the middle, and then a highlighter
00:36 color on top.
00:38 So those are two ways to kind of trick the eye shadow colors to work with your eye shape.
00:45 For eyeliner, what I like to do on the top is I like to use a gel liner.
00:49 Again, because Asian lids tend to be more hooded, a gel eyeliner or a liquid liner has
00:55 great staying power.
00:57 They're waterproof and sweat proof, so when you blink, the eyeliner isn't going to go
01:00 back up on your eyelid and go all over the place.
01:03 Plus they stay all day long, which is fantastic.
01:05 On the bottom, you can use a liquid liner or a gel liner if you want, but sometimes
01:10 that's a little harsh.
01:11 So I will take a slanted brush and I will just very gently tickle back and forth at
01:16 the bottom so that it looks really natural and just rounds the eye out.
01:20 For eyelashes, since Asian eyelashes tend to be very short and very straight, you want
01:25 to curl your eyelashes.
01:27 So take the eyelash curler, put it at the base of your lash, squeeze for a good three
01:31 to five seconds, and then release.
01:33 And then after that, go ahead and apply your mascara.
01:36 If your eyelids tend to be oily, you might want to think about a water resistant or a
01:40 waterproof mascara just to make sure you have staying power.
01:43 So by using these tricks, these are really nice ways to work with Asian eye shape, but
01:48 will still give you a lot of variation in all the products that you use.
