00:00 Hi my loves, this tutorial is inspired by the beautiful Angelina Jolie and her signature
00:08 feline cat eye makeup look. I really hope you enjoy and let's get started.
00:13 For my base today I'm going to start off with one of my all time favourite foundations which
00:18 is actually a very inexpensive one, it is the Rimmel Wake Me Up. Today I'm using the
00:23 shade bronze and I'm just going to apply this using one of my Sigma Kabuki brushes. I love
00:30 these brushes because they can buff on your foundation really beautifully so it looks
00:33 almost airbrushed. Now Angie always has very natural glowing skin so I found that this
00:39 foundation would emulate it the best. Now moving on to the brows I'm just going to lightly
00:43 fill them in using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in the shade medium brown. And I'm
00:48 just going to lightly fill in the brows because Angelina doesn't always have a very bold brow
00:53 so I'm going to do my best to work with what I've got.
00:57 Of course with any makeup look it's really important to brighten up the eye area so to
01:02 do this today I'm using my Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer in the shade custard and I'm going
01:07 to apply this in V formations underneath the eyes, in between the brows, the nose, the
01:13 cupid's bow areas like that. Then I'm going to blend it out using my contour brush from
01:17 Real Techniques. This brush is a really really amazing brush for this type of work just because
01:22 it's got that sort of slightly pointed tip and it's just a really good size for getting
01:27 in these small areas. To set that into place I'm using my Nars Powder in the shade beach
01:35 which is a really beautiful shade for warm skin tones and I'm using a Ray Morris kabuki
01:39 brush just to buff this onto the skin. This is going to set our foundation as well as
01:44 setting that under eye concealer. Now I'm going to go ahead and warm up the skin tone
01:52 and create a soft contour so as always I'm using my favourite bronzer at the moment.
01:56 You've seen this a lot in my tutorials recently. It is the Chanel Healthy Glow Powder which
02:01 really does what it says. It does create a beautiful healthy bronze glow to the skin.
02:06 So I'm just sucking in my cheeks as you can see here. I don't always do this face normally
02:11 and I'm just going to lightly apply that underneath the cheekbones just to carve out those cheeks
02:16 and around the hairline and also the jawline and the sides of the nose. Now I'm actually
02:21 swapping over to a darker bronzer here. This one is from NYX just because I want to get
02:25 a stronger contour because Angelina has the most amazing cheekbones ever. So I'm just
02:30 lightly patting this darker bronzer just as you can see here on the outer portion of my
02:36 cheekbone and it just creates that very subtle sort of light sculpted effect. It's not too
02:41 heavy but at the same time it's going to give us a really good sculpted effect. Another
02:46 thing I'm doing here which is crucial to create an Angelina look is she has the most beautiful
02:51 structured jaw. So I'm just taking that same brush and that same bronzer from NYX and I'm
02:55 just going right underneath my jawline and I'm just going to carve it out just to really
02:59 emphasize it and make it look much more angular. Then I'm just going to run that down the sides
03:04 of the nose and we're done. Now before we move on to applying eyeshadows, I'm going
03:08 to prime the lids as always. It's very, very important to prime your lids. It's just going
03:12 to make your eyeshadow last so much longer and look much more pigmented. So the one I'm
03:16 using is Painterly from MAC and I'm just using my ring finger to apply it. Now moving on
03:21 to eyeshadows, I'm using my Chocolate Bar Semi-Sweet palette and I've just taken this
03:25 cream shade out of the palette and I'm just going to lightly dust this all over the eyes
03:29 and it's going to be our base shade and it's going to allow us to blend the other shadows
03:34 really easily. Next, moving on to this muted brown shade called Truffle which is one of
03:40 my favourites as a crease shade from the palette. I'm using a tapered crease brush and I'm just
03:45 going to apply this through the crease of the eyes but stopping sort of halfway across.
03:51 As you can see, really just emphasising that sort of outer portion of the crease and it's
03:55 just going to really draw the eyes out, elongate them and make them look much more feline-like.
04:00 It's really important to do this because Angelina does always have a really nice defined crease.
04:05 Now to deepen the crease a little bit further and create that sort of nice contoured effect,
04:10 I'm mixing the shades Puddin' I think it's called, sort of like a greyish brown and just
04:15 a touch of the black shade called Licorice. So I'm just going to run this along the outer
04:21 portion just to re-emphasise that work we did earlier with the lighter brown and it's
04:25 really going to deepen up that portion of the crease and allow us to create that nice
04:29 almond feline-like effect. To blend this work out, I am using one of my Zoeva blending brushes.
04:37 Just taking a black kohl pencil, I'm just going to begin tracing out where I want my
04:41 winged liner to be. But basically the key to an Angelina look is not to line the whole
04:46 way across your lid because you really just want to emphasise the outer portion of the
04:51 eyes and draw the eyes out. So as you can see, I'm stopping halfway through and I'm
04:55 really just creating a smoky base for the liner pen that I'm going to use next. So as
05:00 you know, I've been absolutely in love with this liner pen from Stila. It is the Scale
05:05 Day and it is just a very fine tip and just creates the most precise lines. So what I'm
05:10 doing is I'm getting as closely as possible to my lash line and creating a very thin winged
05:16 liner. But again, I am stopping right at the centre of my lid. I'm not going right the
05:21 way across because again, we want to draw the eyes out and make them appear much longer.
05:26 Since I've applied the smoky kohl pencil as a base, it just makes the eyeliner look much
05:30 softer as well. Then again, taking out that same liner pencil, I'm going to begin lining
05:35 the inner waterline. But again, same technique, stopping sort of halfway across the eye and
05:42 just blending it out using the smudger end. The reason I'm doing this is because we don't
05:46 want to encircle the eye because that's going to close the eyes up. We really just want
05:49 to emphasise the outer corners, which will help us to get that signature Angelina eye
05:53 makeup look. To finish off, I'm going to take a small amount of that crease shadow we used
05:57 earlier on a pencil brush and I'm just going to apply that, smudging out the liner that
06:02 we have applied. It's just going to soften out those lines and make them look much more
06:07 sort of smoky and more sultry looking. Now taking this beautiful shimmery shade out of
06:13 the Semisweet palette, I'm just going to lightly highlight the inner tear ducts. This is going
06:18 to help us brighten the eyes and also separate them.
06:25 Moving on to mascara, the one I'm using is Pumped Up Colossal Volume Express by Maybelline,
06:29 which is one of their new ones. I'm just going to coat the lashes with two coats of this,
06:35 making sure that I apply an extra couple of coats to the outer lashes. Now to give the
06:44 upper lash line a much bolder effect, I'm taking my Kohl pencil and I'm just going to
06:47 run that through the upper waterline, which is otherwise known as tight lining. Now I'm
06:54 just going to apply my last coat of mascara and on the lower lash line, I'm just going
06:58 to apply mascara where I have applied the liner and the eyeshadow, just to really emphasize
07:03 the outer corners of the eyes. Now a good trick to creating Angelina eyes is to apply
07:09 flare lashes to the outer corners of the eyes only. You can also use those half lashes,
07:14 which would be much easier for some people, but personally I love using these flare lashes.
07:19 I think they're just so easy and foolproof. You basically just need a small dot of the
07:24 lash glue and just pop it on the eyes and away you go. A good thing about these lashes
07:28 as well is that you don't have to worry about them unsticking. Like strip lashes, sometimes
07:32 the corners can pop off. So they do last all night long and they look very, very natural
07:37 and are great for emphasizing the outer corners of the eyes, just to create that beautiful
07:41 feline flick. Now another little trick to creating eyes like Angelina's is to apply
07:50 a very, very, very thin liner to the inner corner of the eye like this, just along the
07:57 top and it just emphasizes the inner tear duct and just makes it look much more defined
08:02 and cat-like, if that makes sense. Now because I thought I needed a tiny bit more inner corner
08:06 highlight just to really separate the eyes, I took one of my favorite highlight shadows
08:10 of the moment, which is one of the shadows that ShanXO collabed with Colourpop and came
08:15 up with and I absolutely love it. Now on the cheeks, I am going to use one of my favorite
08:20 blushes, which is one of these more neutral pinky blushes, which is Blush Baby from MAC.
08:26 And I'm just using a small brush and I'm just going to sort of smile to bring out the apples
08:30 of the cheeks and focus the brush sort of working my way up the cheekbone, if that makes
08:34 sense. And it's just going to really emphasize those cheeks even further and draw them out
08:39 and make them look much more defined, if you like. To highlight the cheekbones, I'm using
08:46 that same XO eyeshadow and I'm just dusting my fan brush over it to get a very small amount.
08:51 And I'm just going to dust it over the top of the cheekbones, the high points of the
08:55 face. So like the tip of the nose, cupid's bow, areas like that. And it's just going
08:59 to create a nice glow to the skin and just make the face look much more bright and youthful.
09:08 Now Angelina has extremely full, beautiful lips, so I'm going to do my best to emphasize
09:13 the lips and make them look fuller. So what I'm doing is I'm just taking a darker nude
09:18 lip pencil and I'm just filling in the lip line, but leaving the center bare because
09:22 I'm going to apply a lighter nude lip pencil in those areas. And what this is going to
09:26 do is bring those areas forward and make the lips look more plump. The reason I've drawn
09:31 a line across the center of my lower lip is because Angelina actually has very emphasized
09:36 pillows on the bottom of her lip and it just looks so full and gorgeous. So I'm trying
09:39 my best to recreate that for you. And then what I'm going to do is take this elf nude
09:44 pencil and I'm going to fill in those areas that I left bare. And then I'm going to take
09:47 the other end of the elf lip pencil, which is a highlight, and I'm just going to pop
09:51 that on the areas where Angelina has those full plump pillows on her lower lip. And again,
09:57 what this is going to do is bring those little areas forward and make them look much more
10:00 plump. It's going to create that illusion of plump lips. And we're done with the Angelina
10:06 Jolie inspired makeup look. I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial. It's super easy
10:12 to create and I hope you're going to give it a go at home. Don't forget to like and
