00:00 Hi, today I'm going to show you how I do my eye makeup.
00:08 I've got a few MAC products, a few drugstore products, but I'll break it down and tell
00:14 you what each one is called.
00:16 And then you can refer to the blog post for pictures and even more details about the products
00:23 that I'm using.
00:25 My face makeup is finished and the only thing I have on my eyes is some eyeshadow primer
00:31 by MAC in Painterly.
00:34 It comes in a little pod like this.
00:37 And then I've dusted a little bit of my Studio Fix powder over my lids, but other than that
00:42 there's nothing else going on.
00:45 So we're going to start with the base color, which is in Satin Taupe by MAC.
00:52 And I've got a Bare Essentials, I know it's a mix and match, double ended brush.
00:59 So we're going to start with this brush over the majority of the lid and then we'll use
01:04 the angled brush to do the crease.
01:08 So I'm just going to apply a little bit of that and then just dust that right over the
01:13 whole lid.
01:35 It's okay to be a little bit messy with this first part because you'll end up blending
01:49 away all of the shadow afterwards.
02:02 Next we're going to get Espresso by MAC and use the angled side of the brush and put a
02:08 little bit of that in the outer corners.

02:55 - Same concept as before,
02:56 you can be a little bit messy with that part too.
02:59 The part I do next is my eyeliner,
03:03 and I have got Revlon Colorstay in black brown.
03:07 I like it because all you have to do is twist it.
03:10 It doesn't get super sharp, which I'm okay with,
03:13 'cause I don't need a very precise line.
03:15 I'm more going for just a soft,
03:17 kind of thick eyeliner right on top.

04:22 Okay, so we've got our top liner done.
04:25 Now we're gonna blend away a little bit of the shadow,
04:27 and then finish with a really light, bright, lighter shadow.
04:31 All I do is use my middle fingers,
04:34 only for this, not for anything else,
04:38 just to soften the line between the shadow and then my face.
04:43 I find that blending tools can work really great too
04:48 for this step, but my fingers are cheap.
04:53 And kind of get the job done pretty well for me,
04:57 except when you spread a bunch of shadow over there.
05:00 You have to make sure your fingers are clean.
05:02 Okay, so we're nice and blended away.
05:08 And now we're gonna grab one of my newer shadows
05:12 called Floof in Frost by MAC.
05:16 It's very light, but don't be frightened,
05:19 it's not like white on the skin.
05:22 Of course, if you have darker skin than me,
05:24 it's gonna show up a little bit more.
05:26 But I use another Bare Essentials brush
05:31 in a nice little puff.
05:33 And just about three, four presses on there,
05:38 and we're gonna start right at the center,
05:42 and kind of work our way up, and go all the way around.
05:45 (gentle music)
05:48 So it just brightens up right on top there.
05:54 And then we're gonna do a little right
06:06 at the inner corners of our eyes.
06:12 Just a little tip for making you look more awake.
06:16 Okay, so we've got that done.
06:21 And then my other little trick,
06:23 if you like a little bit of brightener on your face,
06:27 but you don't wanna buy a separate product,
06:29 just take just a few little swipes of this,
06:33 and just run that right at the top of your cheek.
06:36 Make sure you blend that away,
06:40 and you can go up and through above your eyebrow too.
06:44 That just gives you a little bit of shine
06:47 right at your cheekbones.
06:48 And you don't have to buy an extra product.
06:52 Okay, so now the mascara begins,
06:55 which is kind of awkward to show on video,
06:58 but you'll get the concept of how I curl
07:01 and apply a few to several coats.
07:04 (gentle music)
07:08 (gentle music continues)
07:11 (gentle music continues)
07:15 (gentle music continues)
07:18 (gentle music continues)
07:22 (gentle music continues)
07:38 (gentle music continues)
07:42 (gentle music continues)
07:45 Okay, so we've got our first coat of mascara on.
08:11 I'm just gonna let that dry for just a second.
08:14 And then in the meantime,
08:16 grab a very kind of tight together angled brush.
08:21 So you can see the difference between those two.
08:24 And this, we're just gonna line
08:26 a little bit of eyeliner underneath.
08:28 And to keep it simple, I just use Espresso,
08:31 the MAC shadow that I used in the outer corner.
08:34 So I'm gonna put about three swipes on there.
08:39 Make sure you don't have too much extra powder
08:41 or eyeshadow on there,
08:42 'cause you don't want that to drip down on your face.
08:45 We're gonna start just right at the lash line
08:48 and just slowly kind of dust it forward.
08:53 I'd rather go heavier on my mascara.
09:04 There's Grits.
09:08 Then go really heavy on my liner underneath my eyes.
09:12 'Cause I'm sure you've seen a pretty lower liner
09:18 and then lower liner that's edging on the gothic look,
09:22 which is, believe it or not,
09:25 not what we're going for today.
09:26 That just gives a little definition on the bottom.
09:35 Okay.
09:38 Step two of mascara.
09:41 We're gonna curl again.
09:42 Okay.
09:52 So we have two coats of CoverGirl Lash Blast.
09:56 And then I'm gonna use Sephora Ampt Lashes.
10:01 This is brand new, but I think I really like it.
10:06 In jet black as kind of the finishing coat.
10:10 And then afterwards I'll do one more curl.
10:12 This brush is also great for separating
10:21 'cause you can see it has all those little bristles in there.
10:24 and it gives your lashes nice definition.
10:53 Not necessarily a ton of length, more thickness.
10:57 Which I need both of, but the thickness is number one
11:02 if I had to put one above the other.
11:05 (clicks)
11:07 Okay.
11:26 So we've got our top lashes all mascara'd up.
11:30 And then to finish, I'm gonna go back to the Lash Blast
11:34 and put two swipes on the bottom lashes.
11:37 And I got covered in mascara along the way.
11:42 And do one more.
11:58 And everyone does the mascara face, which is okay.
12:03 It helps pull those lashes down
12:05 so you can get a nice even coat.
12:07 Try and put mascara on without opening your mouth.
12:23 Good luck.
12:32 Okay.
12:33 So we've got our bottom mascara done.
12:35 The only thing I would finish with
12:39 is a little bit of eyebrow pencil
12:42 just to kind of give those a nice little fill.
12:45 I've done this before I started this tutorial,
12:51 but I just wanna kind of bring them out just a little bit.
12:54 So always short little swipes.
12:58 (clicks)
13:00 Okay.
13:06 So there's my eyeshadow tutorial.
13:08 I hope you enjoyed it.
13:10 If you have any questions about the products I used here,
13:13 including the brushes,
13:14 I'll list all of those on my blog post.
