00:00 Look at that pace, 51.
00:07 That is absolutely insane.
00:12 Welcome to stage three of Love World to Femenina.
00:15 Another flat outing in prospect today between Elche de la Sierra and La Roda.
00:20 Mariana Vaz is our race leader, meaning that she has now worn the leader's jersey at all
00:24 three Grand Tours.
00:25 Although the Dutch superstar narrowly missed out on victory yesterday, being pipped to
00:29 the line by Charlotte Acole.
00:31 I'm very, very happy and proud of how the team rode, how they brought me into the final
00:38 safely.
00:39 We were trying to go for the stage victory, but of course it's really nice to keep the
00:44 jersey in the team.
00:46 The two compatriots may well get another opportunity to duke it out this afternoon.
00:51 Everybody is fresh and everybody is very motivated and excited to go for the stage win.
00:57 The wind is also set to be a major factor in this third stage, with a good chance of
01:00 echelons on the exposed roads of south-eastern Spain.
01:04 The GC teams will have to keep a very close eye on their leaders.
01:10 Well it turned out to be a day of absolute crosswind chaos.
01:14 Unfortunately, most of the action happened before the cameras started rolling.
01:17 The peloton ripping along almost half an hour ahead of schedule and split into three main
01:22 groups as the live pictures began with only around 25k to go.
01:26 Most of the main favourites were in the front group, including Vos, Chloe Diger, Kassia
01:31 Nueva Edoma, Demi Follering, Mavi Garcia and Annemiek van Vleuten, who had a little bit
01:35 of trouble getting hold of that bidon.
01:40 Sylvia Persica was perhaps the biggest name in the second group, also containing the Queen
01:44 of the Mountains, Jade Vielle, but no points on offer today for the Frenchwoman.
01:49 And back in the third group, the entire Trek-Segafredo team, including their leader, Gaia Raiolini,
01:54 Amanda Spratt and Lizzie Dignan, the American outfit set to lose a lot of time.
01:59 The front group soon reached the intermediate sprint, where Vos pocketed another six seconds
02:03 to tighten her grip on the red jersey, Rihanna Marcus and Leanne Lippert in second and third.
02:09 The bad news for Vos was that she hadn't managed to shake off Cole, her main rival, for the
02:13 sprint.
02:14 Look at that.
02:15 Look at that pace.
02:16 51.1 kilometres an hour.
02:17 That is, that is absolutely insane.
02:18 The gap to the second group growing out to around a minute as the favourites set themselves
02:29 for another sprint.
02:31 Would it be a double for Cole or could Vos complete her hat trick of Grand Tour stage
02:35 wins?
02:38 This is that first slight left-hand turn and then we're moving to the front.
02:42 Dorma is doing some work.
02:44 We have Dignan all the way on the outside, through the middle in red, Mariana Vos, in
02:49 green, Charlotte Cole.
02:50 Mariana Vos is going to try the other side.
02:52 Emma Norsgaard is going for the sprint after her collarbone fracture.
02:56 And now it's a sprint yet again between Mariana Vos and Charlotte Cole.
03:00 Is Mariana Vos going to beat Charlotte Cole on the line today?
03:03 It looks like she does.
03:04 What a magnificent win by Mariana Vos.
03:10 A sensational sprint for Mariana Vos to take her first individual win of the season, seeing
03:15 off Cole and Dijkert to increase her overall lead.
03:18 The 35-year-old now has a maiden Vuelta stage win to go with her two victories at last year's
03:22 inaugural Tour de France Femme and her 32 stages at the Giro d'Italia Donne.
03:28 It's a 247th career win for the Queen of Cycling.
03:33 In the beginning it was quite relaxed actually because there was not much going on and then
03:38 suddenly you need to switch on and get ready for the action and from then on actually it
03:45 was a constant high-speed race and trying to stay in the first echelon.
03:51 I'm very thankful to my team and grateful that they brought me in this position and
03:57 I'm very happy I could finish it off in the final.
04:01 The same top three as yesterday but not in the same order.
04:04 Vos, Cole and Dijkert, who is clearly on form, an impressive fourth place for Clara Caponi,
04:09 with Emma Noorskaard up in fifth only two months after she broke her collarbone at Strade
04:13 Bianche.
04:14 Vos now leads by 13 seconds from Dijkert and 14 from her team-mate Marcus.
04:19 In fact there are still four Jumbo Visma riders in the top five, followed by two from Canyon
04:23 SRAM and three from Movistar.
04:26 Vos also takes over the lead in the points classification, although her nearest challenger
04:29 Cole will continue to wear the green jersey in Thursday's fourth stage.
04:34 No mountains action today so Jad Vial still has the polka dot jersey ahead of Alba Teruel.
04:41 Stage four will be a bit lumpier with a late climb that could prove too much for the sprinters.
04:45 Do join us again tomorrow to see how it all unfolds and thanks for watching.
