Gwent Police have confirmed a 5 month old baby has been taken to hospital after a dog attack in Penyrhoel on Saturday morning. The infant’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening, and the force confirmed the dog was seized by officers. This attack follows two other fatal dog attacks in the area in the last few years.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death due to dangerous driving after a 15 year old girl was hit by a car and killed in Caerau in Cardiff. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.30am on Monday, and police say their thoughts are with the family of the deceased.

A former Senedd culture minister has claimed that King Charles - then prince of Wales - had no knowledge of the renaming of the Severn Bridge in his honour and was not a fan of the idea. In his new book about the King, Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas says the king was ‘not happy about it’, as the name change still remains controversial.
