00:00 Welcome back to Honey's Cooking everyone. Today we're going to be making banana
00:03 nut bread.
00:04 What you're going to need is three brown overripe bananas, brown to black.
00:08 They're going to be soft so we can smash them. One and a half cups of flour,
00:12 one cup of brown sugar, two eggs, lightly beaten,
00:15 some melted butter, you want one stick of melted butter, one teaspoon of vanilla,
00:20 a quarter teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of baking soda,
00:24 one teaspoon of cinnamon, and then about half a cup of
00:28 chopped walnuts. Okay guys we're going to smash our bananas now.
00:33 Just smash them into kind of like a puree kind of thing. They don't have to be perfect.
00:37 It'll still be kind of chunky
00:39 and that's fine. Okay once we get it smashed
00:43 we're gonna add our brown sugar. Just dump it in like that.
00:49 Our beaten egg. There's two eggs here, beaten.
00:52 I just made a mess on the counter. Don't do that.
00:55 And our melted butter. And we're gonna whisk all of this together
00:59 with one teaspoon of our vanilla. Let me add that quick.
01:04 And then like I said we're just gonna whisk it together into that banana paste
01:08 that we made. So just stir it like that.
01:13 Okay now as you guys can see I have
01:17 a nice chunky mix together here. We mixed everything together, stirred it really well.
01:21 Now we're gonna add our dry ingredients into
01:25 the paste with the bananas that we have. And I just went ahead and put everything here
01:28 with the flour.
01:29 So we have flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda
01:32 all right here. And I'm just gonna dump that in. And we're gonna mix it together.
01:37 You can mix it gradually. It makes it easier.
01:41 I never remember to do that when I make it so I just mix it all together.
01:45 It might make it a little easier on you to mix it. But we're just gonna stir
01:49 everything together like this. Okay we've got everything all mixed together.
01:54 Now we're gonna dump in our walnuts
01:57 for the nut part of our banana nut bread. And
02:00 as soon as we get these mixed in we're gonna put it in the pan
02:03 in a 375 degree oven.
02:06 Depending on your stove, ours is 375.
02:10 Yours might be 350. Like I said it does depend on the stove.
02:14 So you might wanna watch that.
02:17 How hot your stove gets. Ours generally takes a little longer to cook.
02:21 Okay so we are ready with our batter. Now we're going to put it into our loaf pan.
02:27 We're just gonna pour it in an oiled loaf pan.
02:31 And we just put a little bit of oil in it. We're gonna spread this out.
02:35 Let me turn so you guys can see what I'm doing. Okay.
02:39 There we go. Spread it out. It smells good. I can smell the cinnamon and the banana
02:44 in there. We're gonna finish spreading this and then we're going to
02:47 bake it like I said 350 to 375 depending on your oven
02:51 for about an hour. A little over an hour. So 65 minutes.
02:55 Okay the oven is ready at 375.
03:00 You do wanna set your oven to start warming up when you start the recipe. I
03:04 usually try to tell you that. I forgot in this video.
03:06 But ours is already warm. 375. So we're gonna put
03:10 our bread in and cook it for about 65 minutes. We're gonna check on it about
03:15 halfway through at 30 minutes to see how it's doing.
03:18 Our bread is ready. We're going to
03:21 take it out of the oven now. It smells amazing. The whole house smells like
03:27 banana bread.
03:28 Look at that. Thank you guys for watching
03:31 and stay tuned for more great recipes on Honey's Cooking.
