As independent journalists have uncovered, the head of the Russian mercenary group Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has made great income since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. Through contracts with the Ministry of Defense in Moscow, Prigozhin’s companies would have reached a record sum of 52 million euros in 2022 and 21 million euros in 2021.
