A few years back Theresa ended up homeless after her mother died. She was in and out of shelters, but never got a chance to grieve until she found a home at Nickelsville, a tent community near downtown Seattle.

Theresa says that Nickelsville is like a breath of fresh air. Clearly, Nickelsville has become Theresa's family. Nickelsville is not without problems, but they probably get along better and get more done, than that community in Washington DC.

Personally, I love tent communities. They often provide what homeless shelters miss, and I strongly believe homeless services can learn much from places like Nickelsville.
