Gracie Fields was a big star in the UK. Not just a singer, but also an actress and comedienne in both movies and the music hall. "Forever And Ever" was a sizable hit in 1949, and on January 7th, 1950, it is still on my list at #13. The Wardour Singers are the male chorus. They tend to remind me of Monty Python for some reason. Actually, Python's "Sit On My Face" was apparently a parody of one of Gracie's earlier hits "Sing As We Go" from 1934. Mono recording broadened.
