The show-stopping Jefrii Siimon robot-carer Apprentice debacle

  • last year
UK Apprentice episode 3 of series 13 revolved around the design and marketing of a programmable, interactive robot. Team 'Vitality' opted to target the over 60s demographic, with a view to flogging them a support bot that would periodically spout reminders to take medication or assist with recipe and yoga instruction.

And yet patronising a huge swathe of the wealthiest punters *didn't* come anywhere close to representing their gravest, sales-sabotaging mistake. That honour would rest with one half of the team settling on a name for their creation and customising it to repeatedly reference this, only for the branding team to adopt a totally different moniker under which to pitch the ill-fated product, exchanging no prior dialogue with regards to the repercussions.

Icing an already doomed cake, an embarrassing typo featured in the robot's tagline, prominently paraded in the header of the advertising billboard.
