Franky und Ballas sind seit Ewigkeiten beste Freunde. Als Stars des Schwimm-Teams sind sie beliebt in der High School und begehrt bei den Mädchen. Ein Teenager-Leben wie aus dem Hollywood-Bilderbuch. Bis sich die beiden in der Nacht von Frankys 17. Geburtstag im betrunkenen Zustand sexuell näher kommen. Plötzlich ist alles anders: Ballas will mit Franky nichts mehr zu tun haben und die Gerüchteküche in der Schule brodelt. Franky erlebt Mobbing und Gewalt, aber auch Solidarität und eine neue Nähe zu seinem Vater, der selbst seit einigen Jahren schwul lebt. Allmählich wird dem Teenager klar, worauf es im Leben wirklich ankommt – und wer er sein möchte.
