The Ghost and The Whale tells the story of Joseph Hawthorne (Maurice Benard), a bipolar man who goes out to sea with his young wife Annabel Lee (Madeleine Hamer) and returns home alone. Joseph tells the townsfolk that a whale breached the surface, capsized the boat and sent Annabel Lee to her death. A year later, young reporter, Ed Hale (James Gaudioso) is called to the cape town to uncover what actually took place, only to find that Joseph is off his medication and communicating with a Whale(Jonathan Pryce). The mystery ensues as Annabel’s bloodthirsty family closes in and Joseph must come to terms with what actually happened that fateful day. Featuring Jonathan Pryce as The voice of the Whale.

The Ghost and The Whale erzählt die Geschichte von Joseph Hawthorne (Maurice Benard), einem bipolaren Mann, der mit seiner jungen Frau Annabel Lee (Madeleine Hamer) zur See fährt und allein nach Hause zurückkehrt. Joseph erzählt den Einwohnern, dass ein Wal die Oberfläche durchbrach, das Boot kenterte und Annabel Lee in den Tod schickte.
