Ulrik ist gerade den schwedischen Gardinen entronnen, da stellt sich ihm die Frage – neues Leben oder altes? Eigentlich möchte er schleunigst die ungnädige Vergangenheit so weit wie möglich hinter sich lassen. Seinen Sohn will er wiedersehen und sich an dessen Nachwuchs erfreuen. Wie es sich für einen in die Jahre gekommenen Gangster gehört. Er findet einen Job in einer Autowerkstatt, bekommt eine Topfpflanze geschenkt und verliebt sich in die Tochter vom sehr redseligen Chef. Eine verschrobene alte Dame gibt ihm Kost und Quartier und will als Gegenleistung lediglich auch ihren – erotischen – Appetit gestillt wissen. Einem ganz normalen Leben steht also eigentlich nichts mehr im Wege. Wenn da nicht die offen gebliebenen Rechnungen wären. Sein Gangsterfreund Jensen bedrängt ihn, dort weiterzumachen, wo er einst aufgehört hat. Jensen drängelt immer weiter, endlich auf Rache statt auf Ruhe zu sinnen.
