2003 entzündet sich ein gewalttätiger Konflikt in der Region Darfur. Aus der dortigen schwarzafrikanischen Bevölkerung stammende Aufständler verlangen von der Regierung des Sudan mehr Rechte und Mittel für ihre Heimat. Im Zuge der staatlichen Militäraktionen, getragen durch die arabische Nomaden-Miliz Dschandschawid, kommt es zu Kriegs-Gräueln großen Ausmaßes. Eine internationale Reaktion versagt. Hier ist dokumentiert, wie Individuen verschiedenen Hintergrunds die Situation zu ändern versuchen.
