A much-loved "piece of paradise" in one of the most remote parts of the country will not be open for tourists again, after "too much red tape" shut down the family business.
Situated on one million acres the Lorella Springs Wilderness Retreat has been a family-owned wilderness tourism park fronting the Gulf of Carpentaria for nearly 25 years, but owner Rhett Walker said his dream had unravelled when the business grew too big too quickly.
In 2020 former Geelong AFL star Hamish Simpson took the crew of his TV Show 'Fishing the Wild' to Lorella Springs to film this video.
