NSW police say domestic violence makes up 40 per cent of calls, with scourge worse in regional areas

Domestic violence in NSW is trending upwards and in the state's west it's at a critical high. Assaults and breaches of domestic violence orders there are many times higher than the state average. Despite the serious number of incidents police are hopeful it's a sign more people are reaching out to report and get help.
