Recorded in 1968 as an homage to John Coltrane "To you" by the short lived Carsten Meinert Qvartet was released on Meinert's own M.S imprint, once he began working as producer for the tiny Spectator label. Meinert's group stamps itself out firmly in the mold of aggressive, lyrical post-bop and, while certainly nodding towards American forebears, the music is warm, raw and of a compelling piece.
