with Christmas on its way until next month, I present this tape featuring 3 classic shorts set around Christmas Time and the first of the 3 is not set around Christmas to be exact.

1. Toys Will Be Toys (1949) the Toys in a toy store come to life at night, and perform in a toy parade before the Doll Princess, all of which leads to the "Screen Song" sing-a-long, "Oh, You Beautiful Doll". Note: This was one of the final "Screen Song" cartoons produced by Paramount, featuring the "bouncing ball" progression through the lyrics of "Oh, You Beautiful Doll".

2. the Candlemaker (1957) a Candlemaker entrusts his young son with the task of making candles for their church on Christmas Eve and learns a valuable lesson about the true meaning of Christmas.

and 3. witness the first Christmas by following the Star of Bethlehem told in Silhouette Puppets with music performed by the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus and narrated by Barbara Ruick.

this video goes out to Robert Coates.
