'New York Post' reports that Guy died on Nov. 3, 2022 following a lengthy illness.
Deemed by many as the "greatest punter of all time," Guy was a first-round pick for the Oakland Raiders in 1973.
He was the first punter to ever be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
'New York Post' reports that only one other punter, Steve Little in 1978, has ever been picked in the first round.
John Madden coached Guy from 1973-78 and called him "the best punter I've ever known."
"When we first drafted him, it was a heck of a choice. I thought then he could be the greatest in the league, but I changed my mind. I think Ray proved he’s the best of all time." John Madden, via 'New York Post'
Guy was a seven-time Pro Bowler and was a first-team All-Pro six times.
He also had a hand in three Super Bowl championships.
Guy was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
