Carmakers urged to accelerate switch to electric cars

The Climate Council is urging more car makers to follow Volvo’s decision to phase out petrol-fuelled vehicles. The environmental lobby group has today published a list ranking 12 car brands sold in Australia, from what it says is best to worst in terms of their electrification targets. Luxury car brand Volvo was bumped up to third place at the last minute, after it announced, it will stop selling petrol fuelled cars in Australia by 2026.
