Liz Truss Resigns As UK Prime Minister Just 45 Days After Taking Over From Boris Johnson, All Eyes Now On Rishi Sunak

On October 20, Liz Truss, United Kingdom Prime Minister, resigned from her position. She served in office for only 45 days, the shortest period for any British Premier in history. Britain will now have a third Prime Minister in three and a half months. Indian origin Rishi Sunak’s name came up once again as the country is all set to have a new PM once again. Sunak had lost the election to Truss in the summer. As reported by IANS, apart from Sunak, the names of Penny Mordaunt, Leader of the House of Commons, Ben Wallace, the Secretary of State for Defence and former PM Boris Johnson are doing the rounds.
