This is the dramatic moment hero drivers freed an elderly driver who was stuck in a pickup truck washed away by raging floods in Thailand. The motorist was trying to drive through the deluge when he was washed away following heavy rain in Ubon Ratchathani, northeast Thailand, on October 13.Footage shows how locals came to the pensioner's aid and pulled him from the pickup truck cabin, where he was stranded by the chest-high water.Onlooker Mike Kiey said: The driver was lost then he drove into the high floods. People were shouting telling him to not drive into the water, but he couldn't hear. 'After that his pickup truck was taken away by the water and he was stuck. People came to help save him but his car was dragged away and lost.'Thailand has experienced severe flooding this year. Meteorologists have blamed climate change for the sustained heavy rain, which has been hitting the Thai capital and provinces around the country causing heavy floods for several weeks. Thailand's Center for Climate Change and Disaster claimed the coming months could see heavier, longer rainfalls, due to 'climate change'. Local media reported that the country has this year seen 'an unusually sustained and persistent rainy season'.The heavy rain has been compounded by the deluge from Typhoon Noru, which dumped water in the northeast region of the country, causing rivers flowing into the central region to swell.
