Speed. That is the name of the game. For the frustrated speed demons of our generation, nothing is more heartbreaking than to not experience the adrenaline rush of racing a car.. Video games can probably lessen the anguish, but the thrill of the rush is still something to beat.

One car that can definitely live up to the name of speed is the Jaguar XK 120. It was the company’s first post-war model and was made around 1948 to 1954.

The XK 120 engine is named as such because it can reach speeds up to 120 mph or around 193 km/h. It was the most popular sports car during that time, and actors like Humphrey Bogart bought it and used it.

The XK 120’s history can be traced even in the racetrack. Having to types of molds, the roadster, which was a convertible, and the closed fixed-head coupe, made it popular. It won race rallies from 1949-1954, and set records while doing it. It is indeed a great car to be in.
