प्रत्येक वर्ष आश्विन मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की पूर्णिमा तिथि को शारद पूर्णिमा पर्व मनाया जाता है। इस पर्व का महत्व हिन्दू धर्म में बहुत अधिक है। वशरद पूर्णिमा व्रत के दिन भगवान शिव, मां पार्वती के साथ माता लक्ष्मी और चंद्र देव की पूजा विधि-विधान से की जाती है। इस दिन चंद्रमा 16 कलाओं से परिपूर्ण होता है। मान्यता यह भी है कि इस दिन चन्द्रमा की किरणों में अमृत होता है। इसके साथ इस दिन पूजा-पाठ, दान, स्नान का महत्व भी बहुत अधिक है।

On the day of Vashrad Purnima Vrat, Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati along with Mata Lakshmi and Chandra Dev are worshiped with rituals. On this day the Moon is full of 16 Kalas. It is also believed that on this day there is nectar in the rays of the moon. Along with this, the importance of worship, charity, bathing is also very much on this day.
