The Battle of Uhud is a battle that took place between Muslims and the Quraish tribe on the seventh Saturday of the month of Shawwal in the third year of migration. The Muslim army was led by the Prophet Muhammad, and the Quraish tribe was led by Abu Sufyan bin Harb. The Battle of Uhud is the second major battle fought by Muslims, as it took place one year after the Battle of Badr. The invasion was called by this name in relation to Mount Uhud near Medina, which the invasion took place on one of the southern slopes of it.

The main reason for the invasion was the desire of the Quraish to take revenge on the Muslims after they defeated them in the Battle of Badr, and in order to restore their position among the Arab tribes that were damaged after the Battle of Badr, so they gathered their allies to attack the Muslims in Medina. The number of fighters from Quraish and their allies was about three thousand, while the number of Muslim fighters was about a thousand, and about three hundred of them withdrew, bringing their number to seven hundred fighters. Seventy Muslims were killed in the conquest, while twenty-two of the Quraish and their allies were killed. Muslims believe that the result of the Battle of Uhud is learning the obligation to obey the Prophet Muhammad, vigilance and preparation, and that God wanted to test the hearts of the believers and expose the hypocrites so that the Messenger Muhammad would warn against them.
