A woman has completed her third London Marathon - despite having pins in her back to straighten a curved spine. Claire Nicholson, 24, developed the curve in 2011 and at just 13 had surgery to fix her spine which was shaped like an S. She was forced to wear a back brace throughout her early schooling years. But she didn't let it stop her doing what her peer group could do and she has prospered in running after years of training. She has since run three marathons - including on Sunday. Claire, from Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, said: "My back is completely inflexible but I've suffered no side effects or pain from my condition. "My spine makes me unique and I feel so happy that I've run my third marathon - against all the odds."
