Massive pumped hydro scheme part of $62 billion energy plan

The Queensland government claims the world's biggest pumped hydro scheme will be built under a 62-billion-dollar energy plan. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk today unveiled the state government's new 10-year energy plan which includes the construction of two pumped hydro projects by 2035 including one west of MacKay. Ms Palaszczuk also revealed by 2035 Queensland will have no regular reliance on coal by which time the state will have a target of 80 per cent renewable energy.
