The 1976 album "Juju man" by Gary Bartz is a collection of some r & b or pop tunes Bartz always wanted to do. Bartz is backed by a superb rhythm section, the versatile pianist Charles Mims, while Curtis Robertson provide a solid, cohesive foundation for Bartz's driving saxophone. The higlight od the album may be the sensitive accompaniment to Syreeta's soulful redention of "My funny Valentine", while Clydie King, Billy Thedford and Shirley Matthews add an extra soulful touch the overall sound.
