Following this year’s Cannes Film Festival where it played In Competition, and returning to the sub-genre that made his name, Vertigo will release David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future in UK and Irish cinemas on September 9th.

As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. With his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances. Timlin (Kristen Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed… Their mission – to use Saul’s notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution

Featuring a stellar cast including Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart, writer and director David Cronenberg (Crash, The Fly, Eastern Promises) returns to his body-horror roots for a film that will “delight ravenous fans” (Total Film).

Crimes of the Future will be released on 9th September UK and Irish cinemas.
