She is known worldwide for her role in the famous musical Grease released in 1978.
It was a worldwide success.
But Olivia Newton-John was already known before that, and more precisely in the musical world.

A look back at her career

Born in England, Olivia Newton-John grew up in Australia.
As a teenager, she regularly participated in television shows.
She won the first prize in the talent contest "Sing Sing Sing".
Here are some important dates that followed :
1966 : Release of her first single "Till You Say You'll Be Mine".
1970 : Release of her first album "Tomorrow".
1971 : Her song "I Honestly Love You" is number 1 in the USA.
1974 : She finishes 4th at the Eurovision, which was won by the group ABBA.
1978: Her career explodes worldwide with the release of Grease.
1979 : She receives the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth.
1981 : It's the musical consecration with the album "Physical", sold to more than 2 million copies. It is his biggest commercial success.
In total, 11 of her EPs and 14 of her albums have been certified Gold.
Olivia Newton-John has sold over 100 million records worldwide.
Finally, the success of Grease did not encourage her to continue in the cinema but rather to pursue her musical career (more than forty country albums in total).
But nevertheless she's in the film Xanadu (1980) and in Two of a Kind (1983), again alongside John Travolta.
The actress and singer battled breast cancer for nearly 30 years.
The disease finally won her over in August 2022.
She passed away at the age of 73.
But one thing is certain: Olivia Newton-John will have forever marked generations and generations.
